After some time away to reconfigure the Stream Machine for in-season matchup data (as well as taking some time off for personal reasons), I’m ready to roll out some new streaming options for the weekend matchups. As I promised earlier, I will do a check in at the end of the month in order to show the kind of stats you can get from your streaming starters. It’s important to remember that this is a season-long project, and early season streaming options are hard to figure out, as we don’t have a representative sample of in-season data until later on. Regardless, here are my picks for the weekend matchups.
During an already rough off-season for the Indians, the news that Francisco Lindor would not be ready for opening day was not ideal for the Indians.
I have had this take for about a year now. I’m just now putting pen to paper to explain my reasoning. There are many great videos I wish to show but baseball is still owned by old people who hate free publicity. So I shall use stats instead.
2018 was the first year that the sense of urgency for the Indians to win a World Series was present. They were now two years removed from their World Series loss to the Cubs and were coming off a 102-win season that included a historic 21-game winning streak. The rest of the AL was getting better while the Indians were just staying put. They won 91 games and their 3rd straight AL Central crown. They were swept (destroyed) by the Astros in the ALDS. In an offseason where the rumor was that Corey Kluber or Trevor Bauer were going to be traded, and where they let key players like Andrew Miller, Cody Allen, and Michael Brantley walk, they are in a weird spot. Let’s look at what the 2019 Cleveland Indians will look like.
If you’ve been paying attention to the Major League Baseball offseason, you’re probably well aware of the trade rumors surrounding two of the Cleveland Indians’ best starters: Corey Kluber and Trevor Bauer. However, recent reports suggest the likelihood of either being moved is becoming increasingly unlikely. This is good news for the Indians fanbase, a fanbase still trying to figure out how the front office plans to win lots of games after 2019.
The Indians are a hard team to figure out. With their current roster, they have some great talent. Players like Francisco Lindor, Jose Ramirez, Corey Kluber, Trevor Bauer, and others you would think they should be the top team in the A.L. The 2018 season really was a confusing one.
I mean……….. seriously.
This Off-Season had so much promise. Two of the best in the game in Manny Machado and Bryce Harper, at the ripe age of 26 were set to hit the free agency market for the first time. There was (and still is….sorta) talks of two-time Cy Young winner Corey Kluber being traded. There was even a report that Kris Bryant could have been traded.
Reports are coming everywhere that the Indians have had discussions with many teams, including the Dodgers and Yankees about potentially parting ways with two-time Cy Young winner Corey Kluber and noted twitter warrior, Trevor Bauer.
“Tramposo! Tromposo!”
That’s Spanish for Cheater or “cheat.” There’s no real connection between deception in baseball and my use of the Spanish language. I just wanted to grab your attention.
