Baltimore Orioles 2019 Preview

If we are being honest, all I have to do is say “yikes” and that would be my preview of this team. Just an absolutely terrible ball-club. Hard to believe that only a few years ago, the Orioles had Manny Machado, Chris Davis (when he was good) Adam Jones, and Matt Wieters. This team reached the ALCS in 2014. So how were they this past season? 47-115 and finished dead-last in the AL East for the second straight year. This will be a painful process, but let’s take a look at what the Orioles will field this season.

The deal, as per multiple sources, is 12 years long, which could keep the greatest player of this generation, if not of all-time, with the Angels for the rest of his career.

Led by a talented rotation this group could be a sleeper team in the NL Central.

GM Brodie Van Wagenen has put together a roster that can compete, whether the rest of the baseball universe believes it or not. Van Wagenen is the former co-founder of Creative Artists Agency. He helped negotiate deals for Robinson Cano with the Mariners and Yoenis Cespedes with the Mets among others. Trying to get away from their conventional approach, Van Wagenen added some new pieces to improve the Mets chances in 2019.
