There’s a quote from Pat Riley’s season-ending presser that stood out to me.
The Miami Heat are coming off a disappointing season, as they missed the playoffs for the second successive year. Consequently, roster adjustments are necessary, with grabbing a star player the top priority. This year’s free agency class—headlined by Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Kawhi Leonard—is expected to be the best since 2010.
Earlier this month, Los Angeles Lakers legend and President Magic Johnson abruptly stepped down as President of Basketball Operations. Since then, the Lakers have been interviewing coaching candidates to replace the recently fired Luke Walton.
After mutually parting ways with interim head coach Larry Drew last week, the Cleveland Cavaliers will begin searching for his replacement. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavaliers will interview Miami Heat assistant Juwan Howard for the position next week.
In a couple of months from now, Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside could become a free agent if he opts out of the final year of the four-year contract he signed back in 2016. However, he’s unlikely to earn as much as his $27 million option for next season. While he hasn’t guaranteed he will opt out, Whiteside still plans on giving the decision some thought in the coming weeks.
Jacari McRae| April 10th, 2019 Here are my four takeaways from Tuesday’s 122-99 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Here are my four takeaways from Sunday’s 117-109 loss to the Toronto Raptors.
Eddie Jones played his college basketball career at the University of Temple. Jones played under the tutelage of Head Coach John Chaney. While at Temple, Jones was the 1993-94 Atlantic-10 Player of the year and led the Owls to the Elite 8 in the NCAA tournament.
Here are my four takeaways from Wednesday’s 112-102 loss to the Boston Celtics.
Here are my four takeaways from the Miami Heat’s 110-105 loss to the Boston Celtics on Monday.
Brutal start
This game could’ve ended ugly. The Celtics went on a 20-4 run to start the game and led 36-17 after the first period. At one point, the Heat were down 20 points. Just like Saturday night in New York, the Heat brought themselves back into the game and cut the deficit to 12 by halftime. They even cut the lead down to three late in the fourth quarter.
The Celtics are coming off a “solid” 2-1 week, there are only five more games to go and the Celtics will look to pick up the slack in their next few games.
