Week 7 streaming went pretty well if you tuned in. Hope you snagged some of the featured players. Unfortunately, Ricky Seals-Jones got injured and did not return to the blowout game Thursday night. Let’s get right to Week 8.
A few weeks ago I wrote an Adam Thielen vs Stefon Diggs article and from what I gathered from some comments it was not well received. I asked the Brass at The Scorecrow to let me have a do-over because many felt my article was a little one-sided.
“Tramposo! Tromposo!”
That’s Spanish for Cheater or “cheat.” There’s no real connection between deception in baseball and my use of the Spanish language. I just wanted to grab your attention.
And… here you are.
The final matchup in the 2018 Major League Baseball Season is set. The Los Angeles Dodgers, the National League Champions with a record of 92-71 in the regular season is going up against the Boston Red Sox who had a record of 108-54 during the regular season. To get to the World Series, the Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves 3-1 and the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3. The Red Sox had a slightly easier time making it to the Fall Classic by defeating their rivals, the New York Yankees, 3-1 and defeating the defending World Champion, Houston Astros, 4-1. It seems like the Red Sox will be more well rested going into the final series of the year, but let’s take an in-depth look at how these two division champions match up.
Finally, a series that lived up to the hype. A little closer then I thought it would be, but I have been predicting the Dodgers to make a repeat trip to the Fall Classic. After an intense seven-game fight with the Brewers, the Dodgers will move on to face a well-rested Boston Red Sox club.
Calling an athlete a “dirty player” is quite an accusation. I would go as far to say that it’s equivalent to referring to someone as a cheater or a liar. These qualifiers describe what one thinks about an individual. They go beyond an assessment of behavior. They take it one step further. Qualifiers describe who a person is. Their philosophy or perspective. Who they are within. Their intent.
The Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets both suffered losses in their first games and were both looking for their first win. This was the first home game for LeBron James’ Lakers, and the buzz was high in media across the NBA. The visiting Rockets are the top-tier of the West, while their hosts last night are stuck in the middle of the pack. However, judging by the way the game was played, it looked as if the pair were equal.
The Los Angeles Lakers were ready to start the regular season, while the Portland Trail Blazers were ready to let last year’s playoff failures go and start fresh. It was the season opener for both teams with high ambitions. The way this game was played out was very entertaining and high octane.
Has anyone noticed that my “boom” plays go boom a week or two after I feature them? So unfortunate in the timing. Albert Wilson, c’mon man! Went off this past week. And don’t even get me started on Mason Crosby. Recommended him last week, and he saw plenty of opportunities and missed everything. If he hit all 6 of his kicks including his extra point attempt he would’ve had 21 points. 21. From a kicker. Then he goes and scores 17 against the Niners the next week.
Week 7 in the NFL is upon us, which means major fantasy names will be on a bye. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, Oakland Raiders, and Seattle Seahawks all have the weekend open. So here’s a look at some players who can step in for the likes of Antonio Brown, Davante Adams, Jared Cook and Doug Baldwin in PPR leagues.
Boston has secured their superstar for the distant future. Kyrie Irving has announced that he plans on re-signing with the Celtics next summer.
Ever since Josh Gordon was reinstated last season, everyone had been holding onto the 2013 version of himself. Gordon definitely flashed his talent last season, especially in his first game back when he received 11 targets and had 85 yards receiving.
