MLB DFS DraftKings Around the Horn June 6th, 2019

Tonight we get a more simplified schedule as there will be eight-afternoon games compared to just five-night games. This might make matters easier for some as the pool of players will be trimmed down considerably. Of the six games, we will find that each game has pieces we can use to build optimal lineups. Hopefully, the Daily Fantasy season is going well for you, it can be a grind sometimes but doing some homework can turn out to be very rewarding at the end of the day. Time to circle the bases and go Around the Horn!

MLB Draft Preview: Riley Greene

Riley Greene, OF (Hagerty High School in Florida)
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 191 Lbs
Age: 18
Bats: Left
Throws: Left
MLB Pipeline Grades – Hit: 60 | Power: 55 | Run: 45 | Arm: 45 | Field: 50 | Overall: 55
Riley Greene is an outfielder from Hagerty High School in Florida. He is very athletic and strong with room to fill out. His swing from the left side of the plate is very sweet and fluid. While you won’t see him stealing 40 bases a year, Greene is still an advanced base runner with good instincts. Many scouts say that Greene has the best bat in this draft class. He was selected to play in the 2018 Perfect Game All-American Classic.

Friday, May 24th
Joey Lucchesi, SD @ TOR (49% Owned)
Lucchesi has seemingly struggled this season compared to last, as his strikeout rate and his ERA have regressed. However, his walk rate and HR/9 have both decreased as well, leading to a lower FIP. His xFIP and SIERA both point to him being better than his ERA currently shows, making him an interesting pitcher going forward. He gets an interesting matchup here, going against a Toronto offense that has a 65 wRC+ at home and a 72 wRC+ against lefties.

MLB DFS 5/12: Squads, Sticks, and Some Arms

Pretty much everybody that I gave to you yesterday performed well in some capacity, with the exception of Joey Gallo who went 0-4 with four strikeouts. Today, I want more consistency from my picks than I got yesterday. The Rockies and Padres game was a let-down offensively and the wrong part of the Phillies’ lineup went off yesterday. Both pitchers earned quality starts and Jacob deGrom even went 2-3 with a double, a single, and an RBI. Let’s get into today’s picks.

When you do this type of streaming pitching exercise, sometimes you feel like when you’re right, you’re wrong, and when you’re wrong, it really, really hurts. Sonny Gray pitched beautifully but got no help from his offense (more on that later). The Rays pulled the rug out from under me, moving Chirinos’ start from Saturday to Sunday, with some reports saying he might be used as the bulk reliever. As of this writing, Chirinos has yet to pitch. Crossing my fingers for at least a quality start. Tanner Roark was my second option, and he continued to have a typical Roark “meh” day (5 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 1 HR, 2 BB, 4 K, ND). At some point, I plan to post an article with my results so far, probably toward the end of the month. But now, on to the upcoming matchups.
