Stream Machine 6/3-6/9

Michael Simione | May 31st, 2019

Stream Machine in the past has given you streamers for each day Monday through Wednesday. But we are going to change that as I have decided to give you the best three streamers of the week. Every week going forward I will sort through all pitchers under 30% owned (Yahoo) and pick the best of the best. I will pick guys with the best matchups and best underlying stats that most people wouldn’t see. So, cheers to good streams moving forward and helping you win your matchups every week!

Chase Anderson MIL vs MIA on 6/5 (16% owned)

Let’s set aside Chase Anderson for a second and look at this Miami Marlins “offense.” They are last in WRC+ with 71. Last in wOBA posting a horrid .274. 11th worst in the league in SwStr% at 11.6. And finally, they are 26th in average and 27th in OBP. I’m pretty sure I can throw a decent game against them (but not really). Combine all of that with Anderson’s 2.93 ERA at home and a 32.3 Whiff% on his curve, this seems like an easy win.

Eric Lauer SD vs WSH on 6/8 (13% owned)

Eric Lauer has been on a roll lately. He hasn’t allowed more than two runs in six of his last seven starts. That one start where he did, yea that was in Colorado. In his last three outings, he has a 1.50 ERA, 2.64 FIP, 3.82 xFIP, 3.76 SIERA, and 19.4 K-BB%. He also didn’t walk a single batter in any of those games! The Nationals offense isn’t the best on the road. On the road they are ranked 18th in wOBA (.308), 18th in WRC+ (88), and 19th in K’s (266). I can see a nice outing from Lauer providing you with good ratios.

Pablo Lopez MIA vs ATL on 6/9 (9% owned)

My man Pablo Lopez has been stellar at home. He boasts a 1.84 ERA, 3.88 xFIP, and 23.6 K-BB% at home. That 23.6 K-BB% is really nice, that is equivalent to Zack Greinke and Charlie Morton when they pitch at home.  Atlanta isn’t the best on the road. They are ranked 21st in extra-base hits on the road. The last time Lopez faced them at home he posted a line of 6 IP, 3 H, 1 BB, 6 K’s and 0 ER. Being that he just pitched a quality start at home last week, I expect to see another one on 6/9.
