Reaction: Wade leads Heat past Mavs
Here are my four takeaways from the Heat’s 112-101 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Last week’s Rookie Report featured a break-out 30-point performance from Luka Doncic as well as some impressive scoring from Trae Young. We also checked in on the Pacers rookie guard Aaron Holiday and his performance in the wake of Victor Oladipo’s injury.

At the deadline, the Memphis Grizzlies’ Marc Gasol was traded to the Toronto Raptors for Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright, CJ Miles, and a 2024 second-round draft pick.
It was a wild day at the NBA Trade Deadline. Lots of moves were made. The Philadelphia 76ers acquired Tobias Harris, the Toronto Raptors snatched Marc Gasol, and the Los Angeles Lakers did NOT get Anthony Davis, despite an offer that included upwards of six players including key core pieces and multiple first round draft picks. The Denver Nuggets, however, decided not to make a move at the deadline and frankly, it may have been for the best.
A look at the past week and the one game the Lakers will have this week due to the All-Star Break.
Here are my four takeaways from Sunday night’s 120-118 loss to the Golden State Warriors.
The Celtics are coming off a disappointing 1-2 week, with losses against the Lakers and Clippers. The C’s looked like they found their “groove”, but yet again are still inconsistent.
As you probably already know, Anthony Davis is not a Laker (yet?). Mike Conley is shockingly still in Memphis. We didn’t see Beal or Kemba or Vucevic leave town. What we did see was still madness though, and Mike Fanelli and I have decided to break it down for you, trade by trade. This is the final part of a four-part series where we’ll go over each of the 22 trades made this week, providing commentary and our own personal grades for each team’s involvement in each move. You can find part one here, part two here, and part three here. Hope you enjoy! – Josh
The 2015 draft class has progressed to the point where the players have made their names in the league and NBA fans now know who’s relevant and who isn’t. Players like Karl-Anthony Towns, D’Angelo Russell, Ben Simmons, and Kristaps Porzingis define the 2015 NBA Draft Class and have solidified themselves in the league. One name that was thought to be a bust until this season is the third overall pick, Jahlil Okafor. The star big man came off a national championship team with Duke University in 2015.
