2019 NL Wildcard Game Preview: A Battle of Resilient Teams

The Washington Nationals entered the 2019 MLB season with tempered expectations after a long-time franchise player, Bryce Harper, signed with the Phillies in the off-season. They looked to be headed for a disappointing season, stumbling to a 19-31 record after 50 games. But despite losing Harper and struggling early in the season, this was still a talented team, with star hitters like Anthony Rendon, Trea Turner, and Juan Soto, as well as a trio of aces atop their starting rotation in Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg, and new arrival Patrick Corbin.

Into the 80s with Tom Greene- A Possible Wild Card Matchup

The end of the baseball season is getting closer. As temperatures begin to drop, the heat begins to rise on the teams that haven’t yet joined the 80-win club. After a few days away to take care of employment situations, I return to bring you two more teams that have joined our club. The Tampa Bay Rays and the Cleveland Indians have been battling all season to reach a postseason berth. Now that they’ve reached 80 wins, they both feel they’re almost there. Team Grades: National League East

The NL East is going about how you would expect it. The Nationals started out terribly but have gone back on track, while the Braves have been consistently leading the division for almost the entire year. The Phillies aren’t doing as well as many would have thought with how good they did in free agency, while the Mets are disappointing as usual. Wait, is there another team in this division? Oh right, the Marlins. They’re pretty bad, but honestly, they’re outperforming expectations due to young pitching that has been doing very well.

2018 World Series Prediction

The final matchup in the 2018 Major League Baseball Season is set. The Los Angeles Dodgers, the National League Champions with a record of 92-71 in the regular season is going up against the Boston Red Sox who had a record of 108-54 during the regular season. To get to the World Series, the Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves 3-1 and the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3. The Red Sox had a slightly easier time making it to the Fall Classic by defeating their rivals, the New York Yankees, 3-1 and defeating the defending World Champion, Houston Astros, 4-1. It seems like the Red Sox will be more well rested going into the final series of the year, but let’s take an in-depth look at how these two division champions match up.
