Here are my four takeaways from Wednesday night’s 91-84 Heat victory over the Charlotte Hornets.
The NBA trade deadline is just around the corner and the rumor machine is on fire. While most teams won’t make a deal, each will consider many options between now and the February 7th deadline. In a six-part series, I will provide one trade each NBA team should consider making between now and the trade deadline. The Southeast division is up next and here is a trade each team should make. The Boston Celtics ended last week with a 2 – 1 record. They had a solid week even though they had one loss because it was against the Golden State Warriors who are the best team in the league. They played well against the Warriors but just came up short due to some sloppy turnovers.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Memphis Grizzlies are finally ready to put the “Grit and Grind” era behind them, having reportedly made it clear to other teams throughout the NBA that they are actively listening to offers for their two star players, Mike Conley and Marc Gasol, both of whom have spent their entire decade-plus-long NBA careers in Memphis.
This week on player spotlight we are taking a closer look at another Clipper player who should be getting All-Star consideration this season Tobias Harris. The 26-year-old dual threat forward out of Tennessee is having a career season in his 8th season in the league.

The 2010-11 season was the first year that I got really into college basketball. Sure, I’d watched a few games in previous seasons, but I had always been an NBA fan primarily, and almost exclusively.
The Charlotte Hornets enter the 2018-19 season which more questions than answers this season. Will they resign star guard Kemba Walker or will new GM Mitch Kupchak and team owner, the great Michael Jordan, decide to tear down the roster and do a complete rebuild. Those are just some of the questions facing this team as they look to rebound off back-to-back 36-win seasons and missing out on the playoffs.
Although few would dispute that the Eastern Conference is weaker than its Western equivalent in the NBA, there will undoubtedly be an entertaining battle for those final spots in the playoffs out East. Consequently, the schedule is of major importance for these teams hovering around the eighth seed, as the degree of difficulty in their games could make or break their entire season.
