It has been said that Bryce Harper’s contract demands were around $300 Million for 10 years. Some might say his contract demands are “ludicrous,” well YOU ARE WRONG. As the Harper free agency saga continues let’s take a look why he’s worth his contact demands.
It’s a new year and we are here to get into the 2019 season for the New York Yankees. I had the Yankees winning the World Series last year, but they fell short to the eventual world champion Boston Red Sox in the Divisional round. But its a new year, and you live and learn. The Yankees went through injuries and a less than stellar year from one of its main power bats. But last year is over and its time to focus on this season and putting some heat on those guys in Massachusetts.
To say Major League Baseball’s off-season was slow this year is putting it mildly. Pitchers and catchers have reported. Other
The Phillies have made it no secret they’re willing to spend money this offseason and make a push towards a championship. They’ve been one of the busier teams in the off-season, signing David Robertson and Andre McCutchen, and trading for Jean Segura. In general, their counterparts in the NL East have been active as well: Mets traded for Robinson while signing Jed Lowrie and Wilson Ramos, the Braves signed Josh Donaldson, Brian McCann and re-sign Nick Markakis, while the Nationals signed Patrick Corbin, Anibal Sanchez and re-signed Jeremy Hellickson.

For the past two winters, we could not use the MLB Hot Stove to keep you warm. Last year, it was to believed teams would be all in on the top free agents, but that was not the case; Yu Darvish didn’t sign with Cubs until February 13th, and J.D. The day that I’m writing this marks the one-year anniversary of the Minneapolis Miracle. When the Vikings defeated the Saints in the NFC Divisional Round on a circus catch and score by Stefon Diggs.
I was reading my timeline of that day and I saw everyone proclaim this as one of the greatest moment in sports history. Is it though? This sparked this idea, to give my top five moments in sports history.
I mean……….. seriously.
This Off-Season had so much promise. Two of the best in the game in Manny Machado and Bryce Harper, at the ripe age of 26 were set to hit the free agency market for the first time. There was (and still is….sorta) talks of two-time Cy Young winner Corey Kluber being traded. There was even a report that Kris Bryant could have been traded.
What a difference an All-Star Break makes, especially if you’re free-agent-to-be Bryce Harper. His performance in the first half of the season was costing him millions of dollars on the free agent market, as his average hovered near the Mendoza line.
On the other hand, fellow soon-to-be free agent Manny Machado seemingly shrugged off daily trade rumors and put together a first half that likely made him the front-runner for MLB’s first $400 million contract. But what a difference an All-Star Break makes.
