The Dallas Mavericks have dropped to a below average team since their championship victory in 2011. Their once star players have either left or gotten too old and it’s obvious that the Mavericks need a new, younger core to their team. Through seasons of tanking, the Mavericks now have a bright future. Will the Mavericks take advantage of their new assets? Can Dallas compete in an extremely competitive Western Conference this season?
To say the Detroit Pistons had an up-and-down season would be an understatement. One word to describe the Pistons over the last season would be ‘change’. They have changed coaches and players with hopes to get back in the playoff picture. Out is head coach and President of Basketball Operation Stan Van Gundy and in is the reigning NBA Coach of the Year in Dwane Casey who was let go by the Toronto Raptors.
The Memphis Grizzlies have had a rough time in the Western Conference in recent years. Plagued by injuries this past season, the Grizzlies are looking to come into this next season fighting in an already voracious Western Conference. Can the Grizzlies improve in the West? Can fans expect another season of tanking and poor performance?
