Another day, another division preview! The start of the regular season is almost here. T-minus less than two weeks! Are you excited? I’m excited. In fact, I think this could be the most interesting season for both players and for fans. So many teams switched up their rosters in a drastic way and that can only mean one thing: there’s going to be plenty of drama.
The New Orleans Pelicans’ G League affiliate, the Erie BayHawks – not to be confused with the Atlanta Hawks’ G League affiliate from last year, the Erie BayHawks, who are now known as the College Park Skyhawks, or the Orlando Magic’s G League affiliate from three years ago and prior, the Erie BayHawks, who are now the Lakeland Magic – held their expansion draft yesterday, and it raised some questions when it was revealed that they selected Trey Burke.

Today I’ll be taking a look at some of the top rookies from this years’ Summer League. While the competition in Summer League isn’t close to what the NBA game has to offer, these games do still serve a purpose (even if it’s just to feed into the fans’ basketball addictions).

Brandon Ingram is the best talent out of those three players, and he’s proven it with the Lakers. In the last six games before getting injured, post-All-Star break, Ingram averaged 28.9 points per game, as a second option on the offensive end. If the Pelicans utilize Ingram correctly, he could be a special player, and one they would regret trading.
Julius Randle is in agreement with the New York Knicks on a three-year, $63 million deal, writes Andersen Pickard.
Davis averaged a double-double this year with 26 and 12 trying to win games for the Pelicans. However, Anthony Davis also had to do what’s best for him by refusing to play in a lot of games for the Pelicans to risk any type of health problem. The Pelicans started out the season well, but eventually, the grueling Western Conference schedule caught up to them and they started losing a lot of games.
One of the most highly anticipated off-seasons in NBA history is in full force. Tonight at 6 p.m. on June 30th is the unofficial official start of NBA free agency. Some mighty large names will be available on the open market to sign for any organization they so desire.
