It is no secret that the Houston Rockets are a statistical juggernaut when they have the ball. Their last three seasons are each among the top 15 in all-time offensive rating, while James Harden’s scoring numbers this campaign can only be bettered by Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain, not exactly bad company. And despite being matched up against the Western Conference’s best defense in the first round of the playoffs, the Rockets are yet to show any signs of slowing down, as they have the second-best offense in the playoffs after the opening two games.

The Lakers and Rockets squared off, each squad missing key pieces. The Lakers are still without LeBron James and Rajon Rondo while the Rockets are still without Clint Capela and Chris Paul. The Lakers would eventually lose Lonzo Ball. Lonzo would roll his ankle in the third quarter; he did not return to the game.

Back from the dead, the Houston Rockets have won 14 of their last 18 games and are currently the fourth seed in the Western Conference mainly because James Harden is playing like a mad man. During the winning streak, Harden is averaging 40.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 8.9 assists and 38.4 minutes per game while registering five 30 point triple-doubles. The Rockets have been killed by injuries recently and now rising star center Clint Capela is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a thumb injury.
