It has been a sad few days in the hockey world as it was announced that Detroit Red Wings great Ted Lindsay passed away Monday at the age of 93. Lindsay won four Stanley Cups with the Red Wings and made a huge impact on and off the ice.
The month of February has passed and there are less than 20 games left to be played for each team in the NHL. In the Atlantic Division, once again, we have the three strongest teams in the Eastern Conference. Where do all the teams in the Atlantic Division stand following the NHL Trade Deadline?
The 2019 Trade Deadline Day has commenced and it has started with a bang as the San Jose Sharks announced that they acquired Gustav Nyquist from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a 2019 second round pick and a conditional 2020 third round pick late last night.

Happy weekend everyone. Saturday will have a nice helping of games, for tonight we just have four games on the docket to choose from. Florida Panthers at Calgary Flames could provide offensive fireworks for us, this game, as well as Detroit Red Wings at Winnipeg Jets, have a combined team total of 6.5 goals. The other game I have my eye on is the Pittsburgh Penguins at Anaheim Ducks with a 6 goal implied total attached.
Pittsburgh Penguins won eight straight games going to Sunday night, but as soon as they learned Their opponent would be, the Penguins knew the streak would come to an end. The Blackhawks defeated the Penguins for tenth straight time and in comeback fashion. The Pens scored two early goals to jump to a 2-0 lead, but Chicago came back to win 5-3 to offer a little bit of consolation for fans from Windy City.
In my opinion, the Eastern Conference is the more exciting conference of the two in the National Hockey League. I am going to be highlighting a player or an exciting line from each team to watch out for as you get your fill of hockey this year.
The Atlantic Division has been nothing short of insanity in the first 28 games of the 2018-19 season. Each team is hovering around .500 in the standings and the storylines are laid out for an explosive finish. Can Buffalo shock the world and take the Atlantic title? Will Boston creep up towards the end? Will it be a race to the finish for Toronto and Tampa Bay for not only the Atlantic title but the Presidents’ Trophy? There isn’t another division in the National Hockey League that has as much potential for a storied season as the Atlantic.
