As more Hall of Fame ballots are get released, Major League Baseball and its fans await the next class joining the fraternity of MLB greats.
The Houston Astros finished the season with 107 wins. Good enough for the best record in the AL, and the best record in all of baseball. With that, they take on the winner of the Wild Card game, the Tampa Bay Rays.
The end of the baseball season is getting closer. As temperatures begin to drop, the heat begins to rise on the teams that haven’t yet joined the 80-win club. After a few days away to take care of employment situations, I return to bring you two more teams that have joined our club. The Tampa Bay Rays and the Cleveland Indians have been battling all season to reach a postseason berth. Now that they’ve reached 80 wins, they both feel they’re almost there. And, they’re telling the rest of the 80s club, (indirectly) “Shut your halfwit pie-holes! We’re trying to make the playoffs!”
OK, that SpongeBob reference may not have been the 80s, but we’re breaking down a team that didn’t even exist in the 80s but have some pretty awesome “Throwback” uniforms. The Rays help the sunrise on this edition of, “Backtrax MLB!”
We have a new number one in the power rankings. It is a familiar face and should come as no surprise. With the trade deadline approaching, there is going to be some serious movement in the rankings as we approach the playoffs.
The Trade deadline is quickly approaching. Most of these teams listed will look different in two weeks. But for now, let’s rank them as is.
We are officially back to real baseball. A wonderful weekend in Cleveland has come to an end, and we have teams to rank.
1. New York Yankees
The Yankees went to London and promptly kicked ass. They scored 29 runs over the pond. The Yankees are red-hot and with a healthy (sort of) team, we can only watch as they get hotter.
Welcome in. We have a nice main slate of nine games to go ahead and dive into. All of the games beginning at 1:05 E.T are available to select players from, leaving off the games starting at 4:05 E.T. and later. Please make sure to check the “Other Targets” sections of the article. I provide those as key points but don’t go into detail about the players because sometimes they are obvious. The pitching landscape appears to be full of great choices to pay up for so if that’s the route you take finding the right combinations of lower-priced options could be key.
