Outside of the complete frenzy that the Philadelphia Phillies went on, no other team in baseball has had a more productive offseason than the New York Yankees.
It’s a new year and we are here to get into the 2019 season for the New York Yankees. I had the Yankees winning the World Series last year, but they fell short to the eventual world champion Boston Red Sox in the Divisional round. But its a new year, and you live and learn. The Yankees went through injuries and a less than stellar year from one of its main power bats. But last year is over and its time to focus on this season and putting some heat on those guys in Massachusetts.
The New York Yankees announced they signed SP Luis Severino to a four-year $40 million extension, with a fifth-year team option. This move has set a positive precedent for the Yankees going forward into the 2019 season.
The day that I’m writing this marks the one-year anniversary of the Minneapolis Miracle. When the Vikings defeated the Saints in the NFC Divisional Round on a circus catch and score by Stefon Diggs.

The Boston Red Sox will host their rivals the New York Yankees at 7:30 PM ET on Friday. This will be another October classic for these division foes. It is one of the most intense rivalries in baseball and they will meet in the postseason for the first time since 2004.
The New York Yankees host the Oakland Athletics at 8PM ET tonight. While the Yankees set the major league record with 267 HRs, the A’s were no slouch clubbing 227. With a bullpen game likely in store from the A’s side, the Yankees throw Luis Severino who couldn’t get out of the first inning last year. This could be a slugfest.
Aaron Judge was in the 1st inning of Thursday’s game when he was hit by a pitch. He was later removed from the game due to continued pain and swelling and underwent additional imaging which revealed a distal ulnar styloid chip fracture which was non-displaced. That was a mouthful just to type, let alone understand. What exactly is wrong you ask.
The All-Star break marks the halfway point of the Major League Baseball season. Here you’ll find the current standings and who I believe will win the major awards and the World Series.
