What an incredible story and ride for the 24-year-old Pascal Siakam, in his third season in the NBA after being a first-round pick (2016 Draft – Pick 27th) out of New Mexico State. After a solid career with the Aggies that saw him win WAC Freshman of the Year and then, the following season, win WAC Player of the Year before he decided to forgo his last two years and enter the NBA draft. His rookie season in the league was all over the place to me as he saw action in 55 games total and actually started 38 games that saw him average 4ppg. But he also saw a lot of playing time with the Raptors’ G-League affiliate Raptors 905 where they won the then D-League Champion with Pascal being named the Finals MVP in the process.
Per Tate Martell’s twitter page (@TheTateMartell), Martell will be joining his Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) teammates, Bubba Bolden, and Brevin Jordan at The University of Miami.

Yesterday I brought the recap of the top 30 starting pitchers being taken in the NFBC drafts since the beginning of December. Today let us dive into the top 15 first basemen of these early drafts.

As we start the new year, all you fantasy baseball fanatics are dying to know who the fantasy industry is favoring. Well as I dip my toes into the big boy pool over at the NFBC (National Fantasy Baseball Championship) I will be bringing you positional ranks from their recent NFBC Draft Champions data.
D’Angelo Russell was drafted in 2015 by the Los Angeles Lakers as the 2nd overall pick in the draft. Russell came into the league with high hopes of being the next star point guard for the Lakers. He had the capability of being the next star point guard for the Lakers too, but his stint with the Lakers, unfortunately, didn’t last long.

Welcome Back, Hoop heads! We are already into January and the NBA season is getting into full swing, with playoff prospects for most teams already beginning to take shape for better or worse. Some teams are still fighting the injury bug and others are just losing the fight. We take a deeper look into some of the must-see games this week. Stay tuned!

The Los Angeles Lakers started last week off on a strong note, defeating the Mavericks in Dallas, 107-97. Then they defeated the Detroit Pistons in LA, 113-100, with Kyle Kuzma scoring 41 points in 29 minutes. They hit a roadblock in Utah, losing that game, 113-95. On Sunday night, they hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers; this game should have been a win, but, the Lakers lost this game, 101-95. They finished the week off with a 2-2 record. It should’ve very well been a 3-1 record after taking care of business in Dallas and against the Pistons.

In my three-part series on Basketball throughout the world, I will take a look at all FIBA-recognized countries and the best players from those countries. Here are numbers 101-213 as we count down. Most of these players you don’t know and many of them will never see the inside of an NBA gym but the game is spreading and has truly become global and…well…ya never know. Besides, I put a lot of work into this, so read it, please. Stay tuned for the top 100 coming later this week.
