Alright ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, today is Draft Day! To help you get through the next few hours, I am giving you the very last mock draft for this year. Get ready to argue, fight, and contemplate what you think your team should do in round one tonight. I will include a few trades I see as likely to happen. Now that we’ve gotten all that figured out, let’s dive into it.
Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the article that will get every fanbase grabbing their pitchforks and torches and chasing me out of the country. It’s time for my final mock draft of the year. This will be a seven-round mock draft with some trades. Just to clarify, I did not make moves in rounds three and on because on day two and three of the draft, so many teams make minor moves that I did not include. Alright, let’s get into it.
We are almost there! The 2020 NFL draft is almost here and it’s going to be a draft like no other in NFL history. However, once the draft starts and the picks start rolling, everyone will forget about how the draft is being done remotely and focus on who is being picked and what team is trading up. Here at The Scorecrow, five of our NFL draft scouts (Givanni Damico, Mason Thompson, Connor Neal, Byron Jewell, Brady Podloski) have put together a list of their top-five at each position.
Michael Warren II, RB, Cincinnati #3
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 226 LBs
Eligibility: Junior
Games Watched: UCLA (2018), Ohio State (2019), Memphis x2 (2019), Boston College (2019), East Carolina (2019)
Let me preface this by saying this is just one man’s opinion. I wish nothing but success for these players and enjoy evaluating every single one of them, good or bad. Every year we are stuck with players who we feel are overrated. Whether it’s the athletic profile or the logo on the helmet, someone catapults into the first round. Most of the time, there is consensus when we identify an overrated player. I’ve found two prospects that will be severely over drafted and two who will be severely under drafted, yet no one is talking about it.
Moss has all the makings of an effective (if not extraordinary) NFL tight end. He will need coaching at the next level to reach his potential but in a historically weak class for the position, he should be one of the first off of the board. He displays unreal hands and blocking ability but lacks the physical traits to dominate the field in most situations. Let’s have a look at the potential he brings to the next level as a tight end and where he might go.
Mooney might be the most slept on wide receiver in this class. I strongly believe that he will be successful after he bulks up. He lacks strength but makes up for it with his very twitchy play style. Mooney has a chance to develop and grow into a starting mismatch slot receiver.
J.T. Lambeta previews how the Carolina Panthers will approach Thursday’s NFL Draft and which players they might pursue.
Welcome to my last-minute draft article on the final rumors that are swirling as well as some of my own opinions sprinkled in! Let’s just dive right in.
