First Half Pitcher Rankings Using Rotisserie Scoring

The MLB All-Star break is upon us and I felt like I needed to update my rotisserie rankings. Below are all qualified pitchers (89.2 IP minimum) with their underlying numbers as well as some significant stats we use for fantasy. There are 78 pitchers on the list and by using the rotisserie point system here is how they would be ranked. Please note as there are a hundred other things you should look at before analyzing a pitcher but this gives us a nice base to start with.

Yasiel Puig Has Turned Into A Supernova

I would be lying to you if I say I don’t love Yasiel Puig. I do. I’ve love Puig since he entered the league all the way back to 2013 (time flies!)

Old-timers hate Puig, though. His antics. His demeanor. His non-existent respect for the game. Whatever. Puig is a major leaguer (and has been for six and a half years now) for a reason. He knows baseball. And lately, more than ever, he’s been on a tear.

The Bills didn’t give up much to acquire you, and they almost always have a good backfield and run game. It was a match made in heaven. Your first season with the Bills was a good one, having over 1,000 all-purpose yards in 12 games and making the Pro Bowl. You barely missed a beat going from the Eagles to the Bills and you still looked like a star even when you were hurt. You were a perennial Pro Bowler and consistently had well over 1,000 yards. That was all up until 2018.

Christian Vazquez Is A Rising Star

Entering this season Christian Vazquez was not expected to be an offensive force. Like the Red Sox season however that has not gone as planned. Through Vazquez’s first four years in the majors, he only hit above .250 once. The Red Sox backstop had never driven in more than 35 runs in a season or hit more than five home runs. With the season at the halfway point, Vaquez has not only excelled offensively but been a force with the bat.
