We are now almost halfway through the NFL season. In two short months, only 14 teams will be playing while the other 18 will be looking ahead to the offseason. The holes on each roster are becoming more obvious as time goes on, and while free agency can fill those voids, most teams look to build through the draft. The draft order for this mock was based on The Draft Network’s mock draft machine order. Let’s get it started.
Six weeks into the NFL season and the Chicago Bears sit atop the podium in the NFC North. With a 5-1 record, the Bears are not only in sole possession of the NFC North. Not only are they sitting atop the NFC North, but they are also second in the whole NFC. Despite these accomplishments, most power rankings put out by major sports outlets don’t have them inside the top five, and some, not even the top-ten. With that said, let’s take a look at the Bears so far into the season and see if they are truly bears, or if they are just cubs.
In what was expected to be a close, high-scoring game, the Arizona Cardinals manhandled the Dallas Cowboys on their way to a 38-10 victory on Monday night. Vance Joseph’s defense smothered Andy Dalton behind a backup-filled offensive line, and the rushing attack made the most out of the Cowboys porous defense.
After a wild slate of Sunday games, the Arizona Cardinals take on the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night. In what will be the second game of the night, the Cardinals will look to keep pace with the Seahawks and Rams in the NFC West while the Cowboys try and get a two-game lead on the rest of the NFC East.
If you ask many analysts who the best team in the NFL is right now, it’s a good bet many would say the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay is 4-0 behind the highest-scoring offense in the league and looks to improve to 5-0 on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The offense has been great behind Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones, and Davante Adams.
The Los Angeles Rams were expected to make easy work of the Washington Football Team and did just that on Sunday. The Rams got ahead early and didn’t look back as they beat Washington 30-10.
The Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns both came into the game with records of 3-1. Unfortunately, only one left 4-1 while the other left 3-2. This was expected to be one of the best games of the week, and it was as the Browns won by a score of 32-23.
In what could be the best game of the weekend, the Colts head to Cleveland to take on the Browns. Both teams come in with records of 3-1. Indianapolis is looking to keep control of the AFC South with the Titans spiraling out of control with their COVID situation, and the Browns look to keep pace with Baltimore and Pittsburgh.
Following an 0-4 start, changes had to be made for the Houston Texans. On Monday afternoon, the decision was to fire de facto General Manager and Head Coach, Bill O’Brien.
The defense was the key to Indianapolis getting a win on Sunday against Chicago. Philip Rivers only had to throw one touchdown to Mo Alie-Cox, and from then on, the Colts defense did everything they could to get the win by a score of 19-11.
The 2-1 Indianapolis Colts head to Chicago to take on the 3-0 Chicago Bears on Sunday. The Bears benched Mitchell Trubisky last week, so now it’s Nick Foles who will be tossing the pigskin at Soldier Field. Only one team can continue their hot streak into Week 5.
Now that we’re three weeks into the season, teams are starting to finally take shape. Squads that were supposed to make the playoffs like the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles are winless, leaving their playoff hopes in doubt. While the NFL is going strong, the college football season is off to a hot start as well.
