NBA scout weighs in on Heat’s playoff chances

Last season, the Miami Heat missed the playoffs for the third time in the past five seasons.  In order to improve their chances for this upcoming season, the Heat acquired all-star Jimmy Butler in a sign and trade from Philadelphia 76ers.  Miami traded Josh Richardson to the 76ers for Butler and also moved Hassan Whiteside to the Portland Trail Blazers for Meyers Leonard. With Butler in the fold, the Heat are likely to be better.

Kelly Olynyk injures knee in Canada exhibition game

With training camp a month away, Miami Heat forward Kelly Olynyk picked up an injury Wednesday night.
While playing for the Canadian national team in a FIBA exhibition game against Nigeria, the Heat big man slipped on a wet spot on the court and had to be helped off the floor and brought to the locker room area.

Report: HEAT seeking multiple picks in Chris Paul trade talks

Last Thursday, Chris Paul was traded to Oklahoma City Thunder in a deal that sent Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets.
