On Saturday night, the Miami Heat announced that they suspended Dion Waiters for conduct detrimental to the team. Heat president Pat Riley was quoted as saying the suspension stemmed from “a number of unacceptable incidents this week, culminating with his unprofessional conduct on the bench last night.”
As Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra stated in pregame, this was a “dress rehearsal” for the team. The Heat starters played more minutes, and the team played with a ten-man rotation for most of the game. And it was largely successful, with the team defeating the Orlando Magic 107-98 on Thursday.

For the past three seasons, we’ve heard Jimmy Butler get called anything but a great leader. The national media painted Butler as a cancer to teammates, particularly younger players. However, New Orleans Pelicans guard J.J. Redick told Zach Lowe on his podcast that he doesn’t buy that narrative. Despite playing with Butler for less than one full season with the Philadelphia 76ers, the veteran guard had plenty of time to learn about Butler as a teammate.
There’s been a lot of optimism surrounding the Miami Heat this off-season. Not only because of the new addition of all-star forward Jimmy Butler but also because of Bam Adebayo. By trading Hassan Whiteside to Portland, the Heat are showing they fully believe in Adebayo. Another person who’s also very high on Adebayo is Chris Bosh.
“Is Dwyane Wade coming back?” That’s the question that’s been thrown around by fans across all social media platforms. This all started when Wade was asked about coming back in a recent interview. In a column by Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times, Wade stated that he plans to stay in shape and that he wouldn’t rule out an NBA comeback.
