Deep Dive: Yonny Baseball
Yonny Chirinos has cemented himself into the Tampa Bay Rays rotation this year. The Rays have been known to bring out the best in the players they have, and I truly think they have done that with Yonny.

Streaming pitchers can win you fantasy leagues every year. No matter what format you are in you can utilize streaming to your advantage. Whether you are looking for a two-start streamer or for a spot start, picking out a pitcher can be difficult. Although streaming can help you, it can also hurt you. Here is a little peek into my mindset and how I have come to a streaming record of 82-50 on my twitter account @SPStreamer.
Max Fried
Max Fried started the year off hot with a 2.43 ERA in May. He has since cooled off putting up an ERA of 4.11 in May and 5.68 ERA in June. I wouldn’t shy away from him though; in fact, I would be buying anywhere I can.
The MLB All-Star break is upon us and I felt like I needed to update my rotisserie rankings. Below are all qualified pitchers (89.2 IP minimum) with their underlying numbers as well as some significant stats we use for fantasy. There are 78 pitchers on the list and by using the rotisserie point system here is how they would be ranked. Please note as there are a hundred other things you should look at before analyzing a pitcher but this gives us a nice base to start with.
Below are the three best streamers that I see for next week. I do love Zac Gallen but with the uncertainty of him staying in the lineup I sadly could not pick him. I also released an article this week displaying all the MLB team’s offenses, their underlying number and who is truly the worst. This is a great tool as you always want to stream against weak lineups. That can be seen here: How To Effectively Stream Pitchers
Streaming and pitching matchups are without a doubt extremely important in fantasy baseball. It really helps in every league whether it is rotisserie, points or head to head categories. So besides looking at how a pitcher is performing to help boost our stats we also look at matchups before adding a pitcher. I decided to take some important underlying numbers and create a rotisserie like scoring system for every MLB team. I split them into home splits, away splits and just an overall ranking. This can help because you will be able to make a more educated decision on which pitcher to take off the wire.
Keeper league pitching targets for non-contending teams.
Weather should be much less of a concern tonight. That makes me feel a whole lot better about which direction to go for tonight’s monster slate of games. Let’s take a look at some locks, BvP, Core Plays, and Stacks.
When one of our pitchers go down due to injury or one of our pitchers just aren’t working out we all have to work the waiver wire. Below are the best pitchers that are owned under 30% via Yahoo. I split them into categories as certain pitchers can help more than others based on what type of league you are in (ex. points, categories, and rotisserie). Please note all stats are as of June 7th.
There’s nothing more elusive than an obvious fact. – Sherlock Holmes
Everyone has a movie that they love that critics despise. Some call it a guilty pleasure, while others band together over it and give it cult classic status. For me, recently, I happened upon a pair of movies that I had a similar appreciation for but had forgotten about for a time. Nearly ten years ago, Guy Ritchie’s version of Sherlock Holmes came out to much fanfare, an action variant of the classic detective story, complete with then-comeback-actor Robert Downey, Jr. as the lead and Jude Law as Dr. Watson. I had always been an ancillary fan of detective stories, Holmes stories in particular, and Downey’s involvement in the film piqued my interest, with his recent resurgent success coming off of Iron Man in full force. Unlike several critics, the action-adventure turn to the old Sherlock stories, along with Downey and Law pairing together perfectly, made both this film and its sequel (A Game of Shadows) rather enjoyable.
But you’re not here to read about what I stumbled upon vi
A closer look at three starters experiencing an improved K-BB%. Featuring Matt Boyd, Lucas Giolito, and Kyle Gibson.
Luck is a big part of baseball. Whether it be the ball bounding a certain way or even a fielder losing a fly ball in the sun. Here are the most lucky and unlucky pitchers of 2019.
