As week ten becomes a distant memory and a Thursday night matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns looms on the horizon, let’s take a look at some of the best rookie performances from the past weekend. We saw several offensive skill position players flash while some defensive rookies proved the critics wrong. Who were the top dogs last week? Who has the best odds this weekend? The goal of the cash game article is to outline some of the safer plays, while also, providing options that will help you create the most optimal builds. The whole point of it all is to make some money. Sometimes we won’t, but putting ourselves in the best position to is the main thing. That goes without saying, but can sometimes get overshadowed by the results on a week to week basis. All people want to know is how many points a guy scored, and not necessarily the route in which they got there. DFS is not only a science but a math equation. Let’s dive in, put the pieces together, and try to solve it. Here are my favorite Cash Game Plays for Week 3.

For the first time since 2010, the Cleveland Browns finally can say that they are not the worst team in the AFC North. Finishing 7-8-1 last year gave them third place in their division and their best record since 2014 (7-9). While this was partly due to the firing of former Head Coach Hue Jackson, and former Offensive Coordinator Todd Haley, we need to give a lot of credit to Baker Mayfield. Baker took the league by storm starting in Week 3 against the New York Jets. Now the number one overall pick from the 2018 NFL Draft is in the running for Most Valuable Player. Should we believe the hype? Whenever there is a question about a guy’s on-field performance, the best answer is to turn to the film, and that is exactly what we did to answer the question of whether or not we should believe the hype around Baker Mayfield.

Pittsburgh Pirates Surprise Contenders Heading Into The Second Half

Coming into the season the Pirates were expected to rebuild. In one of the best divisions in baseball, the Pirates were predicted by many to finish fourth. So far, they have battled seemingly never-ending injuries and surpassed expectations. Over the last past two weeks, they faced teams currently in the playoff picture and excelled. With a lot of baseball left, this team is in a good position to succeed in a division still up for grabs.

The week of July 4th was full of unusual medical news from the sports world. It started with the untimely and unexpected death of Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs and ended with the news that former New England Patriots linebacker and current ESPN analyst Tedy Bruschi had suffered a second stroke. His first occurred in February 2005 during the offseason.

The news of the unexpected passing of the Los Angeles Angels’ starting pitcher Tyler Skaggs rocked the sports world late Monday afternoon. An autopsy was to be performed today, but it may take some time before a cause of death is officially determined. As of the time the notification was made it was made clear that foul play and suicide did not appear to be the reason for his unexpected passing.

Heat-Why It’s SO DANGEROUS!!!

As summer begins each year, the risk from heat-related illness heats up as the mercury rises. On average over the last 20 years, 3 football players have died from heat-related illness. Most of these have been high school athletes, but it has happened at all levels of football as well as other sports. In 2001, Korey Stringer, an offensive lineman for the Minnesota Vikings died from complications related to heat stroke during training camp. Following his death, Korey’s wife worked to bring the message about heat stroke to as wide an audience as possible. In 2010 the Korey Stringer Institute was founded at the University of Connecticut with the goal of increasing the research on and reducing the risks of Heat Stroke.

During his season-ending press conference in April, Miami Heat president Pat Riley mentioned three acronyms he uses to describe players. “AOT” is for players who give effort all of the time, “NOT” is for players who give effort none of the time. Riley feels the Heat have plenty of “SOT” players, who perform some of the time.
