Hockey fans from coast to coast love Saturdays.
After a promising season, the Calgary Flames find themselves on the outside looking in with the rest of NHL fandom.
The first-ever season for the Seattle Kraken, well, happened. They finished dead last in the Western Conference and a bulk of their moves from the Expansion Draft and in free agency haven’t panned out.
The Calgary Flames have bounced back after a down year in 2020. The team is currently sitting in first place in the Pacific Division. Red hot under new head coach Daryl Sutter, they have won 8 of their last 10 and 12 of their last 15 games.
The second full week of the NHL season is nearly complete. With action on a nightly basis, the red-hot Florida Panthers and the always stingy Carolina Hurricanes remain the only two unbeaten clubs.
The Calgary Flames have missed the postseason as many times as they have made it in since their 2004 Cup run. More recently it has been six times in the last ten seasons where they have not made it, and now the Flames enter ’21-’22 off a notable offseason.
Welcome in to another edition of Ice Picks. A nice nine-gamer on tap for us tonight. The slate has been trimmed down here to three games, Boston and Tampa is also on my radar but isn’t featured. (We should have some exposure to that game too as they are arguably the best two teams in the East). Teams with the best match-ups are as follows: Vegas at home to the Senators, Calgary home to the Red Wings and the Rangers at the bottom feeders, the New Jersey Devils. Let’s go for a skate a make some Ice Picks.
An agile 6-foot-1, 180-pound center for the Barrie Colts. Ryan Suzuki will be hoping to join his older brother Nick, who was drafted 13th overall in 2017 to the Vegas Golden Knights. Suzuki had very solid offensive performances for both his OHL club and internationally in 2018. Led all Colts scorers in points, contributing 25 goals, and 50 points in 65 games. An incredible spike in production from the year previously, where he had just 44 total points in one fewer games. Playing for Canada U18 at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, he put up one goal and seven assists in five games played.
The Blue Line Report for today, January 19th, 2019. Core Four along with stacks and goalies to help you get that cash in DFS.
It’s no secret that the Calgary Flames are putting together one of their best in franchise history. Or is it a secret that is being kept away in the Pacific division?
