Baseball is back! It’s spring, the weather is getting warmer, except in Detroit, but baseball is here. Most importantly, there are real fans, not cardboard cutouts of your Uncle Alfred in the stands. With that, another year of the best hitters of the week. Let us look at who gets the honor in the 2021 opening weekend.
The Padres are going to be so much fun. They were last year, when they followed up Manny Machado’s initial year and Fernando Tatis Jr.’s rookie season by finishing 37-23, which was second in the National League. Of course, the rival Dodgers cleaned up pretty quickly, but now general manager AJ Preller is making sure that does not happen again.
The San Diego Padres will undergo a slight ownership change, as executive chairman Ron Fowler has sold the majority of the team’s stake to Peter Seidler.
