Cleveland Indians 2019 Season Recap

Another year goes by, but the collapse in the 2016 World Series still stings for the Cleveland Indians. After winning 22 straight in 2017, and winning their third straight division title in 2018, the Indians failed to make the playoffs in 2019.

Into the 80s with Tom Greene- A Possible Wild Card Matchup

The end of the baseball season is getting closer. As temperatures begin to drop, the heat begins to rise on the teams that haven’t yet joined the 80-win club. After a few days away to take care of employment situations, I return to bring you two more teams that have joined our club. The Tampa Bay Rays and the Cleveland Indians have been battling all season to reach a postseason berth. Now that they’ve reached 80 wins, they both feel they’re almost there. And, they’re telling the rest of the 80s club, (indirectly) “Shut your halfwit pie-holes! We’re trying to make the playoffs!”

OK, that SpongeBob reference may not have been the 80s, but we’re breaking down a team that didn’t even exist in the 80s but have some pretty awesome  “Throwback” uniforms. The Rays help the sunrise on this edition of, “Backtrax MLB!”

What Is Dallas Keuchel Worth?

The MLB offseason was an interesting one due to free agency, meaning the lack thereof. Some veterans, expecting big pay-days, had to settle for less than expected and a smaller number of years, quite a few noticeable acquisitions only received one-year contracts. We’re over a month into the new season, and there are still players seeking employment, including Dallas Keuchel.

The Indians are In a Slump and They Need to Figure It Out Fast

Coming into the season, we knew that the Indians offense was going to be a problem. Lucky for the Indians, their starting pitching is among the best in the league. The Indians always struggle to start the season. For whatever reason, they always start off very slow.

Two-Start Pitchers: Week 2 (04/08 – 04/14)

With a total of 35 two-start pitchers scheduled for the upcoming slate, Major League Baseball is in full bloom and is putting it’s aces on full display for Week 2. If week 1 has shown us anything, it is that pitching is shaky and never a guarantee. With so many #1 starters struggling in their first outings (with the exception of Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom) and leaving fantasy owners scratching their heads, most were able to settle down in their second starts and handle their business like we have known them to do (see Blake Snell and Carlos Carrasco). Pitching matchups are subject to change, so make sure to check back before gametime on Monday and before lineups lock:

Cleveland Indians 2019 Preview

2018 was the first year that the sense of urgency for the Indians to win a World Series was present. They were now two years removed from their World Series loss to the Cubs and were coming off a 102-win season that included a historic 21-game winning streak. The rest of the AL was getting better while the Indians were just staying put. They won 91 games and their 3rd straight AL Central crown. They were swept (destroyed) by the Astros in the ALDS. In an offseason where the rumor was that Corey Kluber or Trevor Bauer were going to be traded, and where they let key players like Andrew Miller, Cody Allen, and Michael Brantley walk, they are in a weird spot. Let’s look at what the 2019 Cleveland Indians will look like.

About That Indians Lineup…

If you’ve been paying attention to the Major League Baseball offseason, you’re probably well aware of the trade rumors surrounding two of the Cleveland Indians’ best starters: Corey Kluber and Trevor Bauer. However, recent reports suggest the likelihood of either being moved is becoming increasingly unlikely. This is good news for the Indians fanbase, a fanbase still trying to figure out how the front office plans to win lots of games after 2019.
