Looking Back at the 2016 MLB Trade Deadline
The 2021 MLB Trade Deadline just passed with a ton of deals being made in one of the most exciting years in recent memory. Of course, the thing on most people’s minds was winners and losers.
The 2021 MLB Trade Deadline just passed with a ton of deals being made in one of the most exciting years in recent memory. Of course, the thing on most people’s minds was winners and losers.
The New York Yankees finished the 2020 season 33-27 and seven games behind the Tampa Bay Rays. They then lost to those same Rays in the American League Division Series after sweeping the Cleveland Indians in the Wild Card series. Heading into Aaron Boone’s fourth season as manager, the Yankees look to get over the hump of missing out on the World Series for the last decade.
The Indians are in an interesting situation. They have the talent to make a World Series run but they also have some players that can be moved.
Another fantasy baseball week is in the books, so it is time we look to the wire for the hot bat/hand to get an advantage moving forward.
It’s safe to say the blockbuster offseason trade for the Reds has not worked out. Matt Kemp is gone, Yasiel Puig is likely to be traded, Kyle Farmer has not produced, and Alex Wood just got onto the field this year.
There is no doubt that the New York Yankees roster is already flooded with talented players. Saturday night, they added
Christian Yelich
Who would have thought the best player the Marlins traded last year would be Christian Yelich? Safe to say since moving to the mid-west, he has become a marquee superstar. He began the week by doing something he already did this season: beat up the Cardinals. April 15th, he had three home runs against the red birds, added another the next night, giving him eight total in five consecutive games. Don’t worry St., Louis; he doesn’t save his power just for you, Yelich added four more homers, including his second multi-home run game of the week against the Dodgers, giving him on eight for the week and 16 RBI.
Mike Trout – Remember that time the Angels signed him to $426 million contract? They got a good value for that. Trout used the Rangers’ pitching staff as a launching pad crushing five home runs in four games. Oh, in 26 plates appearances the last seven game, he only struck out twice and walked eight times, that’s a 4.00 walk to strikeout ratio. He also led the league in OBP (.654), SLG (1.375), and OPS (2.029), to name a few.
It’s a new year and we are here to get into the 2019 season for the New York Yankees. I had the Yankees winning the World Series last year, but they fell short to the eventual world champion Boston Red Sox in the Divisional round. But its a new year, and you live and learn. The Yankees went through injuries and a less than stellar year from one of its main power bats. But last year is over and its time to focus on this season and putting some heat on those guys in Massachusetts.
Now that squads have pretty much all reported to Florida and Arizona, we will start projecting, predicting, and prophesizing on what will happen in 2019. Here are 10 players that should break out this year.
Father’s Day is a great day to show your father how much he means to you, and if your father is like me and a huge baseball fan, a day at the ballpark is a perfect way to spend the day with dad.
