The Miami Dolphins were the definition of an up and down team this season. They opened up the season 1-0 before going on a seven-game losing streak.
Over the last two weeks, four teams have been unveiled in the power rankings. The team ranked 31st was a bit of a surprise, but the rest so far have been unveiled with little to no disagreement. Well, here comes another controversial take with the Miami Dolphins coming in as the 28th-ranked team in the power rankings.
The Dolphins were victorious in Tua Tagovailoa’s first NFL start, despite the team’s awful offensive performance. With all the Tua hype entering the game, it was instead the Dolphins defense that carried the team to victory.
The Miami Dolphins entered this draft looking to build this team up even more after spending a lot of money in free agency. They had 14 picks, but after trades, the Dolphins added 11 new players to their roster. So where did they hit? Where did they miss? Let’s get into it.
Did we have an impressive group of rookies in week nine or what? While most weeks we’ve had a few remarkable performances, this past week was full of breakout performances from players we were waiting to go off. While week one saw four pass catchers with 100 or more yards, week nine saw several receivers, running backs, and defensive players alike put up career games. Who stepped up big time? The 2018 Dolphins started the season great with a 3-0 record. They then went on to have an up and down season the rest of the season with their biggest highlight coming on the final play against the New England Patriots on December 9th, now known as the “Miracle in Miami”. Ryan Tannehill got injured yet again and the team had to rely on Brock Osweiler for a majority of the season. The Dolphins finished the season 7-9, enough to place second in the AFC East, but not without a price. Adam Gase was fired and replaced by former Patriots de facto defensive coordinator Brian Flores.
