Welcome back to our MLB top prospect update. Today we check in on the prospects for the American League Central teams.
Now that we’re a couple of months into the season, it is interesting to look at some advanced stats that are surprising from various players. So let’s focus on players that have been flying under the radar.
Always a delight when your DFS planning for the day includes a long look at the weather forecast around baseball. The good news is that it appears the worst is behind us.
Although the Detroit Tigers have struggled this season, Spencer Turnbull has been a bright spot. After having a career year in 2020, the Alabama native has been even better this year.
With the truncated MLB Draft last year, Matt Mikulski wasn’t selected. It may have been a blessing in disguise. The Fordham University left-hander has been excellent this season and has put himself into the first-round discussion.
Prior to the season, several of our writers came out with top-five prospect rankings for each team. We will be running down each of them, how they have done so far, and whether their stock has risen or dropped at all. Let’s start with the AL East.
The 2021 MLB draft is only six weeks away. One player who might hear his name called is Louisville’s infielder Alex Binelas. Let’s take a look at where the 21-year-old stands with the draft approaching.
The American League East division saw a wild change of expectations in April, leading us to expect a coming together in May. As the month concludes, we saw teams play more like what we expected, but the Red Sox remained good. With the Yankees on a wild roller coaster ride and the Orioles looking like the Orioles we know and love, June will be another interesting one in the AL East.
The 2021 MLB Draft will begin on July 11, 2021. Let’s take a look at one of the top college bats in the University of Florida’s Jud Fabian. The right-handed-hitting outfielder from Ocala, Flordia has tools across the board and looks to go in the late first round.
Today we have a solid nine-game slate for MLB DFS. As usual, we have a few nice values that will allow us to spend up in other places to get our studs in the lineup. Let’s get to Memorial Day DFS.
When it rains, it pours. We saw plenty of that this week as a maddening torrent caused rainouts and suspended games across the league. There is never a bad time to look at some lesser-owned backup upgrades to deepen those benches, so it’s time to hit the waiver wire.
