The Los Angeles Dodgers went 3-1 against the Arizona Diamondbacks, as I predicted, in their first series of the season.
The opening series for the Diamondbacks against the rivals Los Angeles Dodgers was a slugfest. The Dodgers won the series winning 3 of the 4 games. Let’s go over the good and the bad for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Opening Day has finally arrived. The Los Angeles Dodgers are starting there season at home against there divisional rivals, the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Knee injuries are a tough injury for athletes and an even tougher injury for the fan to understand. In light of the recent devastating injury to Steven Souza Jr. I thought an explanation of the knee anatomy, might help fans understand the injury he has sustained and the long road to recovery he is facing. In addition, I hope this will be a good place for fans of other sports, besides baseball, to refer to for a better understanding of the injury when another player they follow gets injured.
It was yet another year of mediocrity for the Arizona Diamondbacks. I didn’t expect a lot from this team, to be honest, but it must be frustrating for Diamondbacks fans for their team to constantly be second or third in their division. In 2017, they finally made the playoffs (as a wildcard) for the first time since 2011, in which they lost in the divisional round to the Dodgers.
Keeping it fresh in the National League West, we transition our series to the desert, to dive into the Arizona Diamondbacks’ top five prospects. Contrary to an assumed belief, the D’backs system is loaded with solid talent, led by a young right-handed pitcher looking to lead his team over the next decade.
We always talk about how deep the Outfield is, but if you were to construct your outfield from just this list of 25 players, you would be in great shape. With the exception of a few, there are at least 8 of the first 12 players on this list that have tremendous upside and could far exceed their draft value. And 11 of the 12 can be had outside the Top 100. There is tremendous value in the later rounds for the Outfield Position this year. And you may not have to pay up for a stud:
According to reports from The Athletic the Dodgers and A.J. Pollock have come to an agreement on a 5yr $60 million deal. Pollock can opt out after three years if he reaches a certain number of Plate appearances. The 5th yr option is for $10 million with a 5$ million buyout.
According to reports from ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the Diamondbacks and infielder Wilmer Flores have come to an agreement on a 1yr $4.25 million deal.
As Hall of Fame votes continue to come out, Curt Schilling is next on our list. The former All-Star starting pitcher enjoyed an illustrious 20-year career between five different big league clubs. Looking at his seventh year on the ballot, how does Schilling stack up against the greats and what are his chances?
