Eighteen weeks have come and gone over the course of the 2022 National Football League regular season. Now, it is time for the postseason.
When it comes to the NFL Playoffs, single-player prop bets can be hard to judge, read, and ultimately bet on. For that reason, we will stick to point spreads and game totals. So without further ado, let us meet two best bets on day one of the NFL postseason.

Best Bet # 1: Seahawks +9.5 (-110)
A good old-fashioned NFC West rivalry between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers gets the proverbial playoff ball rolling this afternoon at 4:30 pm (ET).
The spread lists the 49ers as 9.5-point favorites heading into this one, and for good reason. Down the stretch, San Francisco played a brilliant brand of football led by the offensive mastery of head coach Kyle Shanahan. On the other hand, the Seahawks got into the playoffs by the skin of their teeth and struggled mightily in November and December. However, these two teams (and head coaches) know each other very well, and familiarity plays a factor in such a large spread. In addition, this will be the third meeting of the season, and 9.5 points are fairly large in a divisional game, even for a team as good as the 49ers. Although the 49ers should prevail victoriously, I am not convinced they will run away with this one. I am still confident Seattle can keep it close and cover. Don’t hesitate – lock in the Seahawks at +9.5 here, folks.
Best Bet # 2: Jaguars +1.0 (-110)
Professional oddsmakers and sportsbooks are essentially predicting a “pick ’em” (hence the one-point spread) on Saturday evening when the Los Angeles Chargers travel to Florida to battle the Jacksonville Jaguars. I was lucky enough to lock this bet in early because the spread has now changed to Los Angeles as 2.5-point favorites (-2.5). So again, we see the value of locking in a good number right when sportsbooks initially release odds.
After a tumultuous few seasons in Jacksonville, it seems as though the Jags, led by second-year QB Trevor Lawrence have turned a corner. After clinching the AFC South last weekend, Jacksonville will be out to prove that their division crown was no fluke. In addition, do not look now, but the Jaguars have reeled off five consecutive wins. To say this team is coming in hot would be a massive understatement. What better way to flex your proverbial muscles than to take down Justin Herbert and the high-flying Chargers? Although they won last week, many “in the know” in Jacksonville would attest that that particular performance was far from their best. However, I think they can pull out another win at home this weekend. I love the value of the Jaguars in this one – lean towards Doug Pedersen’s men at +1.0.
