It is time to crown the Team of the Week for Week 12. Last Week, the Detroit Lions were an unconventional pick. This week the Philadelphia Eagles are back to wearing the crown this week, wearing it with as much swagger as they did back in Weeks 9 and 3.

The Dual-Threat Offense
The Eagles’ offense put up a massive 500 total-yard game, with 363 of those yards coming from Philadelphia running the ball effectively (something the Green Bay Packers could not do, their lead rusher was AJ Dillion with eight rushes for 64 yards).
Jalen Hurts is the definition of a dual-threat quarterback in the modern NFL. He threw for 16-of-28 completing over 50% of his passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns which went to Quez Watkins and A.J. Brown. In addition, hurts led the Eagles in rushing with 157 yards in 17 rushes. Jalen is the first quarterback in NFL history to throw and run for over 152 yards in the regular season.
Behind Hurts rushing-wise, Miles Sanders had 21 carries for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Then Kenneth Gainwell, eight for 39 yards, scoring one touchdown, and rounding out the rushing stats for Philadelphia is Boston Scott with three rushes for 24 yards.
Another quieter receiving game for the Philadelphia Eagles, their leading receiver was DeVonta Smith, with four receptions for 50 yards, and A.J. Brown, with four catches for 46 yards and a touchdown; Quez had three receptions for 35 yards. Sanders and Gainwell got involved in the receiving game for the Eagles, combining for four receptions for 24 yards.
Dominant Defense
The Eagles were able to get after Green Bay’s quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Fletcher Cox, Josh Sweat, and Haason Reddick had at least a half-sack. Philadelphia’s defense picked off Rodgers twice (Reed Blankenship and Josiah Scott both had those interceptions).
Those Legs are Strong
Kicker Jake Elliot went 100% on his kicks for ten points, with the longest being 54 yards. The Eagles punter Arryn Siposs only had to punt for 52 yards, with one of his punts being inside the 20. In the return game, Boston Scott had four returns for 91 yards, the return average being 23.
The Entire NFC East Is in the Playoffs
Yes, all the teams in the NFC East division would be in the playoffs if the playoffs took place today. The Eagles would be in the first seed, the Dallas Cowboys would be in the five seed, the New York Giants would be in the sixth seed, and the Washington Commanders would be in the seven seed.
The fact that Philadelphia is so good within a division where everyone would be in the playoffs if they started today and where everyone in the NFC East is above .500 in terms of winning percentage means that they are a real threat to everyone they will face.
Final Thoughts
The Philadelphia Eagles seem to be proving their roster’s talent and are on their way to the first overall seed in the NFC playoffs. The Eagles can be this good by playing in one of the toughest divisions in the league (NFC East).
