Dodgers @ Rockies Series Preview

The Los Angeles Dodgers have started off the season on a high note. They are 5-2, Cody Bellinger is looking like an MVP, Kiké Hernandez seems to have found his groove in the leadoff position, Joc Pederson has dominated right-handed pitchers so far, AJ Pollock has looked impressive, David Freese has been clutch, and yet, the Dodgers best player, Justin Turner, hasn’t done much this season. Just imagine this team when Justin Turner gets it going, along with Corey Seager.

Stream Machine: April 5-7

It’s been a rough week for the Stream Machine. Although Julio Urias didn’t end up with the win, he did everything he could to do so, going five innings with no runs and seven strikeouts. It was a solid first start, and you have to be encouraged if you’re thinking about owning him past this one. Kyle Gibson didn’t go Tuesday, getting pushed to Wednesday instead, and he looked good to start but had just about the worst inning anyone could have. Thinking he got Billy Hamilton on a 3-2 count with two outs at the end of the fifth inning, he walked him instead. Obviously frustrated, he proceeded to melt down, ending with 4.2 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 2 K. Loaisiga, meanwhile, also went Wednesday, ending with 4 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 4 K. With the early season struggles, I’ve learned a few things. One, don’t trust pitchers coming off an injury or major illness. Two, don’t trust Rockies pitchers, PERIOD. Not an official article pick, sure, but I learned just the same.

Stream Machine: April 1-3, 2019

In my Saves and Streams article, I explained how to draft a team centered on streaming pitchers. But that was just the draft. Now, the fun begins. If you’re playing in a 10-team ESPN roto league, there are so many quality pitchers to choose from on the waiver wire. Some of them you’ll use once and dump, while others you might want to keep a hold of to see how they perform. Regardless, it’s important to attack the waiver wire for your pitchers (and your hitters too). Even if you don’t use the Saves and Streams philosophy, streaming starting pitching is a viable tool for success. Here are the best options, along with some extra credit players, you need to consider picking up for early streaming success.

Well, over the years, I’ve found that streaming starting pitchers in-season is an effective way to help give you an edge in leagues with daily lineup changes. Elvis Andrus is a 20/20 Threat. Ask Me How.

For the record, no one that I have shared this information with is buying it or believes there is any truth to it whatsoever. Let’s throw out Elvis Andrus’ 2018, which was cut short by an erratic pitch that broke his elbow and kept him out of action for 65 games. Let’s not mention that he hit 6 home runs in only 428 plate appearances and before 2017, he had never hit more than 8 HRs, while averaging 650.4 plate appearances in the 8 seasons prior. We also won’t talk about his career-low .256 batting average. But when you look at his recent profile, Elvis Andrus is a 20/20 Threat.

We always talk about how deep the Outfield is, but if you were to construct your outfield from just this list of 25 players, you would be in great shape.  With the exception of a few, there are at least 8 of the first 12 players on this list that have tremendous upside and could far exceed their draft value. And 11 of the 12 can be had outside the Top 100.  There is tremendous value in the later rounds for the Outfield Position this year. And you may not have to pay up for a stud:
