We are back at it again DFSers for our Thursday edition of Around the Horn. Hopefully, your lineups are producing a decent return early on this baseball season. Mostly night games today and that’s where our focus will be. Marlins at Phillies, Red Sox at home to the Tigers, Indians at Astros, Yankees at Angels and Mariners hosting the Rangers are favourites of mine when for targeting players. Let’s take a trip Around the Horn!

Locks, Stacks, and Barrels – MLB DFS for April 24th

The baseball season is a grind. It’s every single day. We will approach DFS the same way and be winners at the end of the season even if we have our hot streaks and slumps. Every day there are safe bets that flop and values that hit big, but we need to stick with our strategy in evaluating and playing. I apologize for not having my season-long numbers this week. Starting next week on May 1st, I will put up my season numbers and will track them as we go along. For today though, let’s dive right in.

Let’s take a look at some players to target for tonight’s 13-game slate.

A bevy of games for tonight’s MLB card. 14 games in total to pick from to build your roster. It appears that the only weather concern will be in Cleveland where there is rain forecasted for much of the evening. Specific games to target are The Dodgers at Brewers, Colorado Rockies at home to the Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets at St.Louis Cardinals and Houston at Texas. These games project as some of the best games to focus on in terms of offensive production.

MLB DFS: Locks and Stacks 4/16/19

Well, hope you all had a great Jackie Robinson Day and were able to make some money last night. I hope you played Christian Yelich. I also hope you didn’t play either of the pitchers I mentioned. That might be the last time I roster Kikuchi and who knows about Cahill. Either way, the best part about MLB DFS is we get to bounce-back the next day. So, that’s exactly what we’ll do. Let’s take a look at what’s in store for tonight’s huge 13-game slate.

MLB DFS: Players To Target 4/15/19

Going with a different strategy today, I’ll be spending down in most lineups at both starting pitcher spots on DraftKings tonight. Too many of the good high priced options have difficult matchups and this will help to avoid an implosion. If you’re playing on a site like Fanduel, it might make more sense to just go ahead and spend up for a guy like Trevor Bauer. With that said, let’s take a look at some of the players to target for tonight’s games that could potentially bring home the bacon.

Two-Start Pitchers Week 3 (04/15 – 04/21)

Trevor Richards may have a 5.0 BB/9, but he is currently sporting a 14.7% swinging strike rate (10th in MLB) and a 32.4% o-swing (29th in MLB), which is well above the league average of 29.3%. He also has a 68.2% contact rate, which is the 9th lowest in the league and has yielded 11, 13 and 18 swinging strikes in his last 3 starts. Opposing batters are currently hitting .088 against his changeup, which has resulted in a 23.3% swinging strike rate. Pair this with 2 struggling offenses in the Chicago Cubs and Washington Nationals, paired with a home pitchers park, Trevor Richards should be in for a solid Week 3.
