Cap’n Kielar is back to dish out some best bets as a dessert for your Thanksgiving dinner from Thursday. As we approach Christmas, now is a good time to win some money to help buy gifts for your loved ones. Today is the final week of the college football regular season, meaning it is rivalry week. There are big matchups on the docket, so let’s dive into the bets.

Ohio State vs. Michigan (+7.5)

Will Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines finally get past their kryptonite and defeat Ohio State? Maybe not, but this has all the potential of a very close game. In a matchup that college football fans have been anticipating all season, this one will be for a trip to the Big Ten Championship. The Buckeyes have run the table since losing to Oregon early on. Michigan’s only loss was to Michigan State, who Ohio State killed last week.

Michigan has one of the best defenses in the country. They are ranked seventh in scoring defense at 16.3 points per game, ninth in passing rating against, and tenth in yards allowed per play at 4.67. Ohio State hasn’t been slowed much this season offensively, but Michigan can keep up as they are no slouch offensively either. They have the run game capabilities led by Blake Corum and Hassan Haskins to get by a poor Buckeyes run defense. This will be a battle of the trenches type game, and Michigan can certainly give Ohio State everything they’ve got.

Florida State (+3) vs. Florida

The University of Florida football program has been on a tailspin this season and just fired head coach Dan Mullen following the Gators’ overtime loss to Missouri last week. While Florida State has an identical record, at 5-6, they seem to be the more motivated team. Florida is 0-5 against the spread over their last five games while needing 70 points to beat Samford after allowing 52 points defensively. Emory Jones suffered an injury in practice, so Anthony Richardson will likely get the start at quarterback. Richardson has struggled with accuracy this season and will have a tough go at it against a solid Seminoles defense. Give me Florida State as the outright winner. The winner earns a bowl game bid.

Army (+3.5) vs. Liberty

Despite Malik Willis being a likely first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Liberty has looked very sluggish over the last few weeks. They have lost each of their last two games by at least 13 points, including losing by 28 points at home to Louisiana last week. The Flames’ offense has overwhelmed mightily, scoring just 14 points in both of those games and committing nine turnovers overall. Army is on a three-game winning streak and is averaging nearly three points more per game than Liberty. Their ability to fool defenses with the triple-option also makes the Black Knights an enticing play, so let’s roll with them to keep this a field goal game.

Cap’n Kielar’s Best Bet: Army (+3.5)

Georgia (-35) vs. Georgia Tech

The Bulldogs have demolished their opponents this season, covering in all but one contest. In the one game they didn’t cover, they still beat Kentucky 30-13 as 21.5 point favorites. Georgia Tech only has three wins on the season and isn’t really playing for anything other than some dignity. While some may think Georgia will look ahead to the SEC Championship game against Alabama, they are going to do what they have done all season. That is completely embarrassing their opponent as they look for an undefeated season.
