What's Brodie Done? A Lot So Far

For Mets fans, last year was not only dreadful but confusing at the same time. The team started out torrid, going 11-1 and then proceeded to have a dreadful stretch where the season was essentially over. Without any pressure on the team, the team finished the season 44-37 in their last 81 to bring them to 77-85 for the season. Even though the last 81 games were meaningless to the team, this stretch is somewhat an indication of the growth occurring in the organization.

Mikko Koivu Out For Remainder Of Season With Torn ACL

Some tough news has hit the Minnesota Wild today as the team announced that their captain Mikko Koivu will be out for the season with a torn ACL and meniscus. Koivu suffered the injury in the Wild’s shootout loss to the Buffalo Sabres last night. Koivu will have surgery on Friday. The Wild have also called up their 2015 first round pick Joel Eriksson Ek as a response.

Alex Stalock Signs Three Year Extension With Wild

The Minnesota Wild have locked up their backup goaltender as the team announced today that they have signed Alex Stalock to a three-year extension worth $2.355 million. The contract will keep Stalock in a Wild jersey through the 2021-2022 season, and pay him $950,000 in 2019-20, $700,000 in 2020-21, and $750,000 in 2021-22.

Toronto Maple Leafs Acquire Jake Muzzin

The first big deal of the Trade Deadline season went down tonight as it was announced that the Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired defenseman Jake Muzzin from the Los Angeles Kings. In exchange, the Kings acquire right winger Carl Grundstrom, rights to defenseman Sean Durzi, and a first-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.
