Pre-24 Team Tournament NHL Rankings-Eastern Conference

It finally appears that one of the four major sports will be making its long-awaited return this summer. The NHL is in the process of putting all the necessary pieces in place to crown a Stanley Cup Championship. To conclude the 2019-2020 season the League will put together a 24 Team Tournament. They will forgo the approximate 12 games most teams had remaining. The best four teams in each Conference will get free passes to start in the next round(round of 16). Teams seeded 12 to five will play a best of five to decide who gets to advance. In preparation of the Tournament, let’s take a look at my Rankings, we will first start with the Eastern Conference.

2019-2020 NHL Team Recap: Buffalo Sabres

2019-2020 marked another season where the Buffalo Sabres just couldn’t find their way to stable productivity throughout the entirety of a season. As on-lookers, we always realize that the potential is in fact there in Buffalo. For whatever reason, however, the Sabres fall short. This year marks the ninth consecutive campaign without a playoff birth, currently the longest active stretch of all teams. Despite missing the mark, Buffalo’s potential to be better remains in place. 2019-2020 NHL Team Recap: Los Angeles Kings

Slowly but surely the Los Angeles Kings are taking on a new identity. This isn’t Darryl Sutter’s boys anymore. The new boys will be making an impact soon, and they are primed to so under the guidance of head coach Todd McLellan. The dump and chase strategy has been replaced with a more traditional puck possession offense. Improvements will be made, albeit throughout several seasons. Los Angeles was marginally better this past season, with an influx of young talent coming down the pipeline, one can expect that they will only get better. Let’s take a closer look at the 2019-2020 Los Angeles Kings and what can we expect down the road.
