The next decade will be exciting. Three young superstars signed monster contracts and with become the face of their respective franchise. All of the victories and failures, whether their fault or not, will rest on their shoulders. I looked at some factors to try to figure out which one of these players has the best opportunity to cement a winning legacy.

The Phillies have made it no secret they’re willing to spend money this offseason and make a push towards a championship. They’ve been one of the busier teams in the off-season, signing David Robertson and Andre McCutchen, and trading for Jean Segura. In general, their counterparts in the NL East have been active as well: Mets traded for Robinson while signing Jed Lowrie and Wilson Ramos, the Braves signed Josh Donaldson, Brian McCann and re-sign Nick Markakis, while the Nationals signed Patrick Corbin, Anibal Sanchez and re-signed Jeremy Hellickson.
For the past two winters, we could not use the MLB Hot Stove to keep you warm. Last year, it was to believed teams would be all in on the top free agents, but that was not the case; Yu Darvish didn’t sign with Cubs until February 13th, and J.D. Martinez with the Red Sox until on February 26th, after spring training began. Some believed teams were just holding off on spending because of the talent pool that would be available in 2018-19.
We are less than three weeks from the beginning of spring when pitchers and catchers show up in Florida and Arizona, and there are still some players unsigned. All the baseball world’s attention is on Manny Machado and Bryce Harper, but there are other players seeking employment for 2019. Here are some of the other free agents to look out for.
