NASCAR Xfinity Series DFS: Daytona Road Course

This weekend, NASCAR heads to Daytona Superspeedway for the inaugural race weekend at the Daytona road course. This race weekend was added to the schedule because of COVID-19. The race weekend will get started with the Xfinity cars Saturday at 3 PM EST. With drivers having no practice at the road course, we could see a wild race. To make things even crazier, there is rain in the forecast. Since this race is a road course, NASCAR will put on the rain tires and turn the drivers loose. This weekend has all the opportunity to be one of the craziest weekends of the year. Now lets jump right into my top drivers for this weekend’s Xfinity race!

Dominator

Austin Cindric ($11,000 DK)

It’s not hard to figure out why I’m going with Cindric this week. He has had an amazing stretch of races the last month. He has finished in the top five in each of the last six races. Three of those races have resulted in wins and two were second-place finishes. Those races Cindric averaged 82.65 fantasy points. He will be starting on the pole so he will have a great chance to lead a lot of laps and dominate the race.

Mid-Value

Daniel Hemric ($10,200 DK)

Hemric will be looking to bounce back after last week’s 35th place finish. He had an oil tank blow early in the race. This week Hemric will be starting back in 23rd. That gives him plenty of potential for place differential points. In 12 races this season for JR Motorsports, Hemric has finished in the top ten seven times. He is however still looking for his first win on the season. It might take some strategy to get up towards the front but look for Hemric to get another top 10 finish and maybe even contend for his first win of the season.

Earl Bamber ($9,900 DK)

Bamber is making his NASCAR debut this weekend at Daytona. He will be starting in the 29th position. Bamber’s racing background is in sports cars. He actually has some experience racing at the Daytona road course. Bamber has raced many times in the Rolex 24 at the Daytona. He will also be in some good equipment driving for Richard Childress Racing. Look for Bamber to use his road course experience to put together a solid race in his debut.

Value

Ryan Sieg ($6,400 DK)

Sieg will likely scare a lot of people away because he is starting up towards the front. He will be starting eighth so there’s not much opportunity for place differential points. However, Sieg is coming off back to back top ten finishes including a ninth-place finish last week at Road America. At this price, you are not going to find many cars with the speed Sieg has week in and week out. Look for him to run a solid race and finish somewhere in the top ten.
