Happy Draft Day everyone! After many months of speculation, mock drafts, trades, and smoke screens, the NFL Draft is finally here. Enjoy this mock and hopefully enjoy who your team takes tonight.
1. Jacksonville Jaguars – Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
If Jacksonville takes longer than three minutes with this pick, something is very wrong.

2. New York Jets – Zach Wilson, QB, BYU
This one isn’t a 100 percent lock like Lawrence, but it is very close. It is about a 99.95 percent chance Wilson is a Jet tonight.

3. San Francisco 49ers (via Miami) – Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State
This is where things start to get a lot tougher to predict. It was recently reported this week that the 49ers were between Mac Jones and Lance for the third pick. I have been on the Lance to San Francisco train ever since the trade happened as he is the perfect fit in Kyle Shanahan‘s offense. While Jones would create a more certain immediate impact, Lance has a much bigger ceiling than the Alabama product.

4. Atlanta Falcons – Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida
It is almost certain Atlanta will stay put on four and select Pitts. The Flordia tight end (not just a tight end) would give the Falcons another great weapon and really open things up for them on offense.

5. Cincinnati Bengals – Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon
This pick is between Sewell and Ja’Marr Chase, as it has been since the end of the season. While Joe Burrow has a connection to Chase and may want to reunite with him. But the organization ultimately has the final decision and knows what’s best for their franchise quarterback. That’s protecting him and his ACL, so they make the right decision and give him a generational talent for their offensive line.

6. Miami Dolphins (via Philadelphia) – Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU
With the Bengals grabbing Sewell, the Dolphins watch Chase fall in their laps. Miami will likely field offers with this pick, but with Chase still there, they won’t hesitate to snatch the top receiver. He immediately gives their receiving corp a major boost as he an elite pass catcher with the ability to burst off big yards after the catch.

New England sends picks 15, 96, 2022 first and third-round picks to Detroit for pick 7.
7. New England Patriots (via Detroit) – Justin Fields
New England pounces on the chance to move up as they see Fields slipping. Bill Bellichek has been aggressive this offseason and it should continue in the draft. Fields would likely sit on the bench behind Cam Newton for the first few weeks before taking the reigns as the Patriots’ quarterback for years to come.

8. Carolina Panthers – Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern
The Panthers traded for Sam Darnold earlier in the offseason. If Darnold is to succeed, he will need to have a team around him, which he lacked while in New York. Selecting Slater would be a great start as Carolina looks to protect their new quarterback.

Philadelphia sends picks 12, 84, and 2022 third-round pick to Denver for pick 9.
9. Philadelphia Eagles (via Denver) – Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama
The Eagles move back into the top ten and jump their division rivals. In doing so, they steal the top cornerback in the class from the also cornerback needy Cowboys. Philadelphia has Darius Slay and Surtain would create a great duo between the two.

10. Dallas Cowboys – Jaycee Horn, CB, TCU
After seeing the Eagles jump them for Surtain, Dallas is forced to “settle” for the next best thing. Horn is not too far off from Surtain and would tremendously help their secondary.

11. New York Giants – Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama
The Giants see Waddle fall and don’t let him slip any further. He would ignite the Giants’ offense and add to their already revamped receiver corp. Waddle would be their best and most explosive receiver since Odell Beckham Jr.

Minnesota sends picks 14, 119, and 2022 second-round pick to Denver for pick 12.
12. Minnesota Vikings (via Denver through Philadelphia) – Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech
With Denver moving back for a second time, the Vikings jump the Chargers to grab a solid tackle. After Riley Reiff departed for Cincinnati in free agency, Minnesota is left with just Rashod Hill as the only true left tackle on the roster. The Vikings have had little success in recent history drafting lineman, but Darrisaw could change that. The former Hokie looks to come in and have an immediate impact while having a tremendous ceiling of a franchise left tackle.

13. Los Angeles Chargers – DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama
With no tackle worth taking after the Vikings snatched Darrisaw, the Chargers grab a weapon for the reigning rookie of the year Justin Herbert. The size concerns for Smith cause him to fall, but they seem a little overstated, to be honest. Smith would be a stud in the Chargers’ offense.

14. Denver Broncos (via Minnesota) – Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State
Parsons will undoubtedly fall and the Broncos trade back not once, but twice to grab some draft capital. Then with Parsons still on the board, they still get arguably the best overall defensive player in the draft. The character issues will work themselves out and he will be a stud.

15. Detroit Lions (via New England) – Azeez Ojulari, EDGE, Georgia
After trading back with the Patriots, the Lions get much-needed edge-rushing help in their rebuilding defense. Ojulari is an uber-talented player with the ability to stop both the pass and run. He has a relentless motor, is versatile, and has a very high ceiling. That’s everything a team like the Lions needs to revamp their defense.

16. Arizona Cardinals – Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern
Newsome has injury and durability concerns, but he has a very high ceiling if he can stay on the field. He was a stud last season, while the Cardinals have an immediate and long-term need at the cornerback position. If they are looking to fill that need with this pick, it will be between Newsome and Caleb Farley. Newsome is the better fit for me and has fewer red flags.

17. Las Vegas Raiders – Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame
Owusu-Koramoah has been mocked to the Raiders heavily over the last few months, and why do anything different. He just reads Las Vegas Raiders and Jon Gruden. The hybrid linebacker would give the Las Vegas defense a big boost and help fill the need at linebacker and even at safety.

18. Miami Dolphins – Alijah Vera-Tucker, OL, USC
Staying on the offense after taking Chase earlier, the Dolphins transition to adding to their offensive line. Vera-Tucker was teammates with Miami’s current left tackle Austin Jackson, so there would be chemistry there. AVT has versatility as he transitioned to tackle last season after Jackson was drafted by the Dolphins.

19. Washington Football Team – Mac Jones, QB, Alabama
Without having to trade up, Washington gets their new quarterback. After winning the weak NFC East last season, Washington looks to get better and they are one of the best landing spots for Jones. They have a great placeholder in Ryan Fitzpatrick, a great coach in Ron Rivera, a bulldozing defense, and solid weapons on offense. There is nothing that says Jones wouldn’t be able to succeed with a solid team around him.

20. Chicago Bears – Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas
As they fail to work out a trade-up for one of the top five quarterbacks, the Bears add protection for whoever their quarterback ends up being. Cosmi has the range to play at both right and left tackle, so he provides that versatility. He will likely start out as a rotational piece for the first year before taking over at one of the two tackle spots full-time.

21. Indianapolis Colts – Kwity Paye, EDGE, Michigan
The Colts don’t have much going for them on the defensive line. Paye doesn’t make anyone drool with not massive production over his college career. But he has a solid skillset and is very physical, with a lot more to tap into. Adding Paye to the defensive line rotation would drastically improve how they look, at least on paper.

22. Tennesse Titans – Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota
The Titans could go defense here or trade back, but opt to go with an immediate impact receiver to replace Corey Davis. Bateman is someone to look out for as a great value pick and a guy the Packers could be looking to snag at 29 or trade up for.

23. New York Jets – Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State
New franchise quarterback? Check. Now the Jets just need to improve their offensive line to protect that franchise quarterback. It was reported that Jenkins was number one on the Jets offensive linemen board, so they would not hesitate if he fell to them. While he played mostly tackle in college, Jenkins projects as more of a guard in the NFL. That would still benefit the Jets.

24. Pittsburgh Steelers – Jayson Oweh, EDGE, Penn State
The Steelers keep Oweh in state while reading the board instead of reaching for more pressing needs. Oweh is very raw but he has a lot of tools that Pittsburgh covets. He could wind up moving to outside linebacker in the Steelers’ 3-4 scheme. Edge rusher is a need with the departures of Bud Dupree and Ola Adeniyi, but they still have Alex Highsmith in line to play opposite T.J. Watt.

25. Jacksonville Jaguars – Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU
The Jaguars added to their safety room this offseason as they brought back Josh Jones and signed Rudy Ford and Rayshawn Jenkins in free agency. But they could still add a young safety to the mix, that being the top safety in the class in Moehrig. There are other needs outside of quarterback that they can address, but safety is not a deep position, while the others are noticeably deeper.

26. Cleveland Browns – Jamin Davis, LB, Kentucky
The Browns need a game-changer at linebacker and Davis is a guy who has risen up draft boards throughout the process. A young speedy linebacker is needed to really round out their defense that has added strong veteran pieces on the defensive line.

27. Baltimore Ravens – Joseph Ossai, EDGE, Texas
With their first of two first-round picks, the Ravens boost their pass rush with a guy who should make an instant impact. That is the exact guy Baltimore needs, someone who won’t be a project but can be close to the next Terrell Suggs. Ossai is a guy who looks to be getting better as he goes and fits the Ravens perfectly.

28. New Orleans Saints – Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
Reports over the last few days have mentioned New Orleans possibly trading up to take Farley. But in this scenario, that isn’t needed as he falls right in their laps. Teams are wary of his back concerns and are not sure how he will look, which almost had me slip him out of the first round. The Saints are a team that would be willing to take a chance on Farley and could see it pay off.

29. Green Bay Packers – Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa
Our very own Mason Thompson’s favorite position. I almost tortured Mason by having Green Bay take his favorite receiver in Terrace Marshall, but instead gave them a gamechanger to bolster the middle of their defense. Collins would make an immediate impact as a true three-down defender.

30. Buffalo Bills – Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami
The Bills could go a number of ways at this pick and really could snab the best player available on their board. Rousseau would be a solid value pick for Buffalo as the young and explosive defender is a good match with the veteran defenders on their defense.

31. Baltimore Ravens (via Kansas City) – Dillon Radunz, OT, North Dakota State
With the pick they traded Orlando Brown for, the Ravens find his replacement in Dillon Radunz. Radunz has been flying up big boards lately and would be a great find with their second first-round pick. He is a very smart and talented tackle who would open more things up for Lamar Jackson and company.

32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Najee Harris, RB, Alabama
The defending champions really have no holes, but adding more talent like Harris will give them staying power. The bruising back would make their running room, which they relied heavily on to win the championship, even more formidable. Plus, Tampa Bay re-signed Leonard Fournette to a one-year deal this offseason. So after this season, Harris could take over as the lead back.
