Florida is on a major skid lately losing seven games straight. They need to win at some point and when better than at home against Garret Sparks on the back end of a back-to-back. Sparks has a 3.00 goals against average this year which isn’t great, but he is 6-2-1. Mike Hoffman has been one of the only consistent members of the Florida Panthers over this skid, although he does only have three points in his last five games. This is a risky play, but if he does well, it’ll pay off big time.
According to reports from ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the Diamondbacks and infielder Wilmer Flores have come to an agreement on a 1yr $4.25 million deal.
What an incredible story and ride for the 24-year-old Pascal Siakam, in his third season in the NBA after being a first-round pick (2016 Draft – Pick 27th) out of New Mexico State. After a solid career with the Aggies that saw him win WAC Freshman of the Year and then, the following season, win WAC Player of the Year before he decided to forgo his last two years and enter the NBA draft. His rookie season in the league was all over the place to me as he saw action in 55 games total and actually started 38 games that saw him average 4ppg. But he also saw a lot of playing time with the Raptors’ G-League affiliate Raptors 905 where they won the then D-League Champion with Pascal being named the Finals MVP in the process.

In my three-part series on Basketball throughout the world, I will take a look at all FIBA-recognized countries and the best players from those countries. In part one we looked at 101-213. Here are numbers 51-100 as we continue our countdown. Most of these players you still don’t know, although this time there are a few that may be recognizable, and many of them will never see the inside of an NBA gym but the game is spreading and has truly become global and…well…ya never know. Stay tuned for the top 50 coming next week.
Yesterday I brought the recap of the top 30 starting pitchers being taken in the NFBC drafts since the beginning of December. Today let us dive into the top 15 first basemen of these early drafts.
