Each week I will give a quick update to the injury status of several key players for the week. I will explain the injury they are dealing with and try to give an educated opinion on the player’s availability for their upcoming game that week. Now that we know what I am going to do. Let’s look at the Week One Injuries for the NFL this week. Because I am having internet issues, I am going to do this in 2 parts.
Trey Burton TE Chicago Bears
Trey Burton suffered a groin strain a week ago and is listed as questionable for the NFL 100 Kickoff Thursday night. He has been limited all offseason after undergoing sports hernia surgery following last season. Since he has been limited I would expect that if he plays his snaps will be limited to try to prevent further injury due to lack of conditioning. Since the Bears want to get the season off to a good start and the normal recovery time for a mild groin strain is two to four weeks, I don’t expect him to play at all this week. If you were counting on him for your fantasy team, you may want to explore waiver options before the rest of the slate of games on Sunday and Monday.
I will have the remainder of the injury report for the remaining games of kickoff week for you tomorrow. If there are specific players you would like to see covered for week 2, tweet me the names and I will see what I can do.
