The Eastern Conference bottom-dweller Washington Wizards attempted to end the Celtics early season win streak on a cold November night. However, the Celtics outshot the Wizards winning 140-133 in TD Garden. This was the first game since 1992 that the Celtics as a franchise had scored 140 points.
This division has players who want to prove themselves, but it also has players that need to live up to the hype surrounding their names in the past couple of months. I mean think about it, there are so many names that have dominated conversations that are on sup-par teams, at least when compared to years past. Trae Young, Bradley Beal, Jimmy Butler, Terry Rozier, and Nikola Vucevic just to name a few!
After acquiring both Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris during the 2018-19 season, the Philadelphia 76ers believed they had a great shot at an NBA championship. However, those hopes were squashed with Kawhi Leonard’s lucky bounce at the buzzer in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Soon after, both Butler and Harris were headed towards free agency with their futures in Philadelphia becoming uncertain.
During his season-ending press conference in April, Miami Heat president Pat Riley mentioned three acronyms he uses to describe players. “AOT” is for players who give effort all of the time, “NOT” is for players who give effort none of the time. Riley feels the Heat have plenty of “SOT” players, who perform some of the time.
The Washington Wizards have been granted permission to interview Denver Nuggets president of basketball operations, Tim Connelly, for the same position, per Adrian Wojnarowski. There seems to be a legitimate interest from Connelly, which could very well be a big problem for Denver.
After a pretty intense NBA Draft Lottery last week, the top 14 picks in the upcoming draft are now revealed. In this article, I am going to predict the top 10 picks as I see how it could play out in June.
The Boston Celtics are coming off a horrendous and tough week, going 0-2. They lost to Milwaukee by 1 on the road, Kyrie missed a contested shot in a tough loss. The unexpected loss came against the Bulls in which they lost by 10 points, they sit at the #5 spot in the East. Very horrendous lost for the C’s.
The NBA trade deadline is just around the corner and the rumor machine is on fire. While most teams won’t make a deal, each will consider many options between now and the February 7th deadline. In a six-part series, I will provide one trade each NBA team should consider making between now and the trade deadline. The Southeast division is up next and here is a trade each team should make. Yesterday, the Carmelo Anthony drama finally came to an end (for now) as the Houston Rockets traded Anthony and cash to the Chicago Bulls. Anthony hasn’t played a game since November 11th and the Rockets have been trying to trade him for months.
Back from the dead, the Houston Rockets have won 14 of their last 18 games and are currently the fourth seed in the Western Conference mainly because James Harden is playing like a mad man. During the winning streak, Harden is averaging 40.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 8.9 assists and 38.4 minutes per game while registering five 30 point triple-doubles. The Rockets have been killed by injuries recently and now rising star center Clint Capela is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a thumb injury.
