The Pittsburgh Steelers came out of the gate relatively fast (if you ignore that Browns tie), starting with a 7-2-1 record, despite the holdout of Le’Veon Bell. They exerted some pure dominance against Carolina at home and wore down a tough Jacksonville defense. After a few head-scratchers against the AFC West, they managed to beat back New England to stay on track for a playoff run. A close loss to a very good New Orleans team coupled with Antonio Brown giving up on the team going into Week 17 buried them, and they limped to a 9-6-1 final record, missing the playoffs.

The regular season is a little more than five weeks away, but football is back baby! Of course, that means redraft fantasy leagues will be drafting left and right over the next month or so. With that in mind, here are my top 12 tight ends for the 2019 season.

After Monday’s performance, I’m sure you’re sick to your stomach thinking that you have to start somebody else at quarterback. There is hope for you, I would feel less anxious than a Travis Kelce owner who needs a win this week. If you are that Travis Kelce fan, we’re going to try to get you a touchdown with your TE streamer in Week 12. The tight end wire doesn’t really offer much more than a touchdown prayer at this point.
Week 11 will offer some new names to the streaming conversation of fantasy football. Streaming has been tough this year as most people who wanted to stream a quarterback every week probably settled on keeping their successful streamer long term like Mitch Trubisky, Jared Goff, and maybe even Andy Dalton to name a few. The tight end landscape has been brutal all year and with key injuries, more and more tight ends are surpassing the 50% owned percentage making them ineligible to be streamed.
Week 10 offers some relief from a Week 9 “bye-pocalyspe.” This past week we were forced to throw out names like Derek Carr and Joe Flacco as streaming options and that didn’t go as well as someone people had needed. Week 9 was a week where good streamers were needed desperately, but in reality there just weren’t many great options. Here’s to a better Week 10.
