The 2020 NFL offseason was unlike any other, though most similar to a lockout season, it wasn’t entirely unprecedented. Introducing a new coaching system and a quarterback as the Carolina Panthers did was no cakewalk regardless. That they finished the season 5-11 while also losing All-Pro Christian McCaffrey was mildly impressive.
Prior to the 2020 NFL season, three questions were posed for each of the 32 teams. This is the recap and answers to those questions for the Carolina Panthers.
The Panthers were certainly not the best team in the league, recording a 5-11 season this year. Their 21st ranked offense and 17th ranked defense was often not enough to close out games, as they went 3-8 in games decided by one score. This record can be partially attributed to the QB play of free-agent signing Teddy Bridgewater.
Even ugly wins qualify as wins. The Green Bay Packers pulled out an ugly 24-16 win over the Carolina Panthers on Saturday night. The Green Bay offense produced 145 rushing yards from Aaron Jones and only 143 passing yards from Aaron Rodgers, but Green Bay was able to ride a dominant first half to remain in possession of the NFC’s number one seed.
As the 2020 season winds down, the NFL will have five total games over the next two Saturdays. One of the two games tomorrow is the 4-9 Carolina Panthers traveling to Green Bay to take on the 10-3 Packers. While the Packers are determined to win out and secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, the Panthers are looking to play spoilers.
Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams are unstoppable. Rodgers is breaking records, some of which he held previously, and Adams is somehow playing better than he ever has before. The Green Bay Packers offense has officially passed the Kansas City Chiefs with the highest offensive DVOA in the NFL, and Rodgers passed Patrick Mahomes as the most efficient quarterback in the NFL.
Week 14 brings football to Bank of America Stadium to see the Denver Broncos take on the Carolina Panthers. The Broncos (4-8) are coming off of a tough 22-16 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs while the Panthers (4-8) are coming fresh off of a bye week after losing to the Minnesota Vikings 28-27 back in Week 12.
Hopefully, everyone had a great Thanksgiving and made some money on the two NFL games. If not, you have a chance to make some this weekend as we have 14 games over the next few days.
