18 weeks have flown by and this year’s Monster Energy Supercross season is now over. Last night Salt Lake City closed things out for the third consecutive year, and only the first time they have had just one round.
In March of 2018, Christian Craig’s career in Supercross suffered a major roadblock. He wouldn’t know until 10 months later, but he had traces of Heptaminol in his system from a drug test.
For the second weekend in a row, it was Championship Day in Monster Energy Supercross. Both Christian Craig and hometown hero Eli Tomac had clear roads to the 250 West and 450 Titles respectively.
Entering Saturday, just 10 riders in the history of Monster Energy Supercross had won multiple Premier Class Championships. That list is a whos-who in the sport, with names like Ricky Carmichael, Jeremy McGrath, James Stewart, Chad Reed, Jeff Stanton, etc.
For the third to last round of Supercross in 2022, the series returned to Foxborough, Massachusetts for the first time since 2018.
On his ride to superstardom in the United States, Jett Lawrence picked up his second championship on a 250 since moving over from Australia.
This weekend, Supercross takes place on the east coast for the final time of the season. The location; Gillette Stadium in Foxborough Massachusetts, which is just the third time ever Supercross will take place at the current home of the New England Patriots.
