MLB All-Decade Team: 2010s

The 2019 MLB season is now in its stretch run, closing out the final year of this decade. So I thought it would be fun to put together a team of the best players by position for the 2010s All-Decade Team. A couple picks are definitely no-brainers, with others being tougher to come to a decision. Without further ado, here we go. Let the arguments commence.

DraftKings Around the Horn August 9th, 2019

L.A. Dodgers ace Walker Buehler appears to be the safest option at SP1. However, a couple of lesser-priced options are a good way to balance out your lineup. Houston is facing Dylan Bundy and the Orioles at hitter-friendly Camden Yards.  The Yankees are facing another one of the Blue Jays young prospects. The Red Sox are in plus-matchup at home to the Angels and the Padres are at home against Kyle Freeland who has really hit the skids of late. These are all prime spots for high scoring totals. Let’s get the weekend kicked off right and go Around the Horn!

MLB DFS: Oppo Taco Tuesday 🌮 Picks for August 6, 2019

If you played Nicholas Castellanos last night, you were able to enjoy a solid outburst, including an opposite-field first-inning home run. Oppo Tacos are very much welcomed, especially on Tuesdays. Don’t be fooled, as long as a home run still equals fantasy points, we will take home runs of any variety. Pull shots, moonshots, wall scrapers, and of course opposite-field blasts otherwise known as oppo tacos.

The Very Unique Eric Hosmer Profile

I was looking at this season BABIP leaderboards in the search of some outliers. I was curious to see if any batter was putting together a strangely high BABIP value while hitting more (more more) than average ground balls and not that many line drives or fly balls.

Galvin: Put Protective Netting in Every Ballpark

The 2019 MLB season has come with a record number of home runs as well as a record number of strikeouts. However, many people forget the long plate appearances that this season is producing. With these long plate appearances come a record number of foul balls going into the stands.

MLB DFS: Pitching, Core Value Plays, and Stacks for July 29, 2019

Ah, here we are, Monday. The terrific feeling of the weekend ending and work beginning again, said no one ever. But do you know something people actually say? They’d like to win some money playing daily fantasy. Who cares that it’s Monday? Some of the best and most profitable slates of the year have been Monday nights. Let’s hope that is the case tonight as I’ve done some research and dissected some players to consider using. Take a look at some pitching options, core value plays, and stacks for tonight.

MLB DFS: Locks, Core Hitters, BvP, and Stacks for July 23, 2019

You have to risk it to get the biscuit. You’ve heard the saying before, but when it pertains to daily fantasy lineups it can be especially pertinent. With that said, I like the Miami Marlins again tonight against Dylan Covey as a lower-owned stack. Not quite sure we can use them in cash games, but let’s take a look at some players that we can.

Los Angeles Dodgers 60-32: 1st place +13.5 GB

Positives:

The pure dominance of their Starting Rotation. Here are the Dodgers starting staff rankings in MLB, ERA (3.19 ) 2nd, FIP (3.42) 2nd, xFIP (3.36) 1st, AVG (.227) 4th, WHIP (1.11) 1st, and K-BB% (19.5%) 3rd. The Dodgers may very well have the best starting staff in all of MLB in 2019. Along with the Elite starting staff, the offense is near the top of MLB as well. The offense has a line of .263/.342/.466, .808 OPS, .203 ISO, 146 HRs, and 466 RBIs. They have true front runners in the NL MVP race with Cody Bellinger and in the NL CY Young race with Hyun-Jin Ryu.

Fernando Tatis Jr. Is A Budding Superstar

Preseason Buzz
Coming into the 2019 season, there was a ton of hype surrounding a certain third-baseman, who was the twenty-year-old son of a Hall-of-Famer, playing for the Toronto Blue Jays. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was expected to come up and immediately tear the cover off the baseball. But the adjustment period has been slower than expected, as Vlad Jr. has taken some time to get used to major league pitching, slashing .248 AVG/.328 OBP/.416 SLG with 8 HR in 241 plate appearances. There was also hype around another twenty-year-old son of a former MLB player, but he was not expected to immediately produce, and there was talk that we might not even see him this season. Instead, Fernando Tatis Jr. has exceeded expectations with the look of a future superstar.

MLB DFS: Pitching and Core Hitters for July 1, 2019

To me, it is clearly time to spend up for the big hitters tonight. With only five games on the menu, the pitching options are few and far between. I’ve narrowed down a couple that I will be targeting and have included some of the hitters I like for tonight. It’s a new month and the same old grind. Let’s get into some Pitching and Core Hitters to target for tonight.
