When David Price signed with Boston four years ago he was expected to be the ace to deliver a championship. Price claimed that he had saved all his postseason wins for Boston but failed to meet expectations. His postseason struggles continued in 2016 and injuries limited him the following season. Last year however Price proved his critics wrong. The former number one overall pick was key to the Red Sox postseason run and dominant in the World Series. In 2019 Price has picked up where he left off and arguably been the Red Sox best pitcher.

Malone was born on September 8th, 2000. He started playing high school ball at Indian Trail Porter Ridge. After putting together a 1.36 ERA and striking out 76 batters in 51.1 innings pitched, Malone transferred to IMG Academy for his Senior year in Bradenton, Florida for more exposure. In 2018, Malone went 8.1 innings, collecting nine strikeouts, a 1.08 ERA, and a 2-0 record for the 2018 18U National Team. He helped lead team USA to clinch a spot in the gold medal game.

Weight: 210 LBs
Age: 18

Throws: Right
MLB Pipeline Grades – Fastball: 60 | Curveball: 60 | Changeup: 55 | Control: 55 | Overall: 55
Matthew Allan is a right-handed starting pitcher who attends Seminole High School in Florida. He has a strong build with room to fill out more. He pitches with a relatively slow delivery and a large leg raise. His pitching mechanics come naturally to him, requiring little effort. He pitches with more control from the windup as opposed to the stretch. His fastball is accurate and tops out at 97 miles per hour. As he continues to mature physically, he will probably be able to dial his fastball up to 98-99. He was selected to play in the 2018 Perfect Game All-American Classic.
