We spend a lot of time analyzing players and matchups so that we can gain an advantage over our opponents. We try to figure out why things happened the way that they did and what we can learn from it to help us in the future. We dig deeper so that we can pinpoint matchups to target and start players that we might not be starting every week. I am not going to tell you to start Patrick Mahomes and Drew Brees, or Odell Beckham Jr. and Michael Thomas. That is a waste of both my time and yours. So let’s shy away from the obvious and figure out who needs to be in your lineups this week.
The Cowboys’ offense has not looked good through three weeks of the season. Losing Dez Bryant and Jason Witten hurt and the O-line is banged up, but there may be an underlying issue with America’s Team that no one is addressing.
Ah, yes, trading in fantasy football. One of the things that can give hope to the hopeless or the bored something to do. Although, finding the right deal isn’t always easy. You have to identify players that you can realistically acquire (based on what you’re willing to give up), and then craft an offer that would appeal to your would be trade partner. While the last step is important, the focus of this article is to help you identify players that are worth trading away and trading for. And as always, it’s important to remember that not every trade can fit into the ideal “buy low/sell high” mold. With that being said, it’s time to look at what I’m buying and what I’m selling after three weeks of football.
Week 3 brought us the emergence of Baker Mayfield in Cleveland. He led the Browns to a comeback victory over the New York Jets and Sam Darnold. Baker won the first battle of many between the top two quarterbacks of the 2018 draft and looked damn good in relief of Tyrod Taylor. The fantasy quarterback battle of the century between Big Ben and Ryan Fitzpatrick did not disappoint at all and the Rams look like the team to beat this year and are a complete fantasy juggernaut. Oh yeah, and the Bills beat the Vikings in Minnesota.
Week 3 is now wrapped up and the season is already shaping up to be a closely contested one. As of Monday Night Football, only 3 teams remain undefeated and another 3 are without a win. Also on the topic of wins, the Browns finally got the job done and the Patriots appear to be in a bit of a Super Bowl hangover. For more on these storylines and other big news from around the league, here are our picks for the NFL Week 3: Award Winners.
After sitting all of last year Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has officially gotten his time to shine and that’s exactly what he did. Through the first three weeks of the NFL season, Mahomes has thrown for 896 yards and 13 touchdowns while managing to throw zero interceptions in the process.
Last Thursday the city of Cleveland went fully Dilly Dilly as they celebrated the Browns winning their first game after 19 winless games played over 635 days. To celebrate this joyous occasion I decided to dissect the Browns win over the Jets.
A shoulder dislocation is a frequent injury suffered by athletes such as football players because of the collisions and violent contact with other players and the ground. That statement became true when Anthony Miller experienced a left shoulder dislocation in Sunday’s game against the Cardinals.
Week 3 was not kind to us fantasy owners. We lost Jimmy Garoppolo for the season to a torn ACL, Evan Engram went down with a sprained MCL, and A.J. Green went down with what is being called a groin injury. We also had some players come out of the woodworks to place their name in the ring of players worthy of being started on your roster. Every week we try to make our teams better, so let’s get to it. The following waiver wire adds are based on a $100 Free Agent Aquisition Budget (FAAB).
